With all of the talk about football season being cancelled throughout much of the country I was thinking that it may not necessarily be a bad thing. Hear me out... as conservatives we often talk about how the universities are ran by super leftist that have never had real world experiences. If football is cancelled, we all know that the majority of universities will have to do some major cutbacks which will primarily come from payroll i.e. staff.

Frankly, all universities shrinking across the US and allowing other trade schools to fill the void is a very good thing.

Florida State is making significant cuts in their athletic department.

I have zero problem with it. And I’m a 20 year LSU season ticket holder who bleeds P&G

I’m hoping I don’t have to chose between college football or having blm bs shoved down my throat. I may have to abandon my favorite hobby.

I am hoping for no sports.

They would be more Communist rallies than games right now.

Another thing ruined by Democrats.

I thought that the athletic budget was separate from the academic budget for most schools, especially big state schools?

the biggest issue with canceling is that so many businesses in college towns count on football Saturdays to make their year, and most small business owners are conservatives

shutting it down hurts too many people that I am pulling for

also,we are looking at an SEC only schedule?

this will never happen again, and we will see better games than we do in any other year if the season is played

Look, football has been on the chopping block for the Left for 10 years. Goodell and the dumbass owners and players are going along with it. The players have been used and the owners handcuffed.

Football is no longer. The reason? It was the one thing that brought all Americans together.

NFL is done. Over. Sayonara. Youth football has been in decline. Once the NFL ceases to exist so will college football.

I fricking hate it. I really do. But I will not watch.

Maybe from the athletic department. This isn’t going to impact the education side of things- in the short term at least. Very few football programs give money back to the university. LSU is the only one I’m even aware of.

It would also make the NFL and NBA create real minor league systems for players who have no real interest in college.

This "one and done" NBA rule, the "majors" that exist solely to keep athletes eligible, etc. are a joke to real education.

My thought is I don't want to hear a ballplayer or a musician politic. I'm paying to be entertained. Dance and sing monkey, and be grateful we're paying you

The Roman Empire kept its citizenry happy by providing bread and circuses. We've done likewise.

Now a microscopic bug has caused many food producers to decide that it's cheaper to simply pour milk down the drain and slaughter animals on the ranch, than to take them to market and lose money doing so.

That same bug has shut down nearly every form of entertainment: we can't go to sporting events, nor can we go to movie theaters. Not that we have that many new movies coming out; even most TV shows are reruns since they can't film new ones.

I think Someone is trying to send us a message. The question is: are we listening?

I grew up on sports. Not unlike most. But I didn’t hunt, fish, or really do anything other than that. I regret that so much now and it really has nothing to do with what’s going on. My interests have changed and I’m hindsight, realize there was so much more. What’s going on is totally adding to that regret though. Over the last couple years I’ve picked up a few hobbies like woodworking and have now started hunting. Golf has become my 2nd favorite sport (mlb) still got me and it’s by far my favorite to play.

Soooo, what I’m trying to say is I kinda welcome the demise of the big sports. Time for some people to get a reality check

Those assholes hate people like me, so I want them destroyed.

There are probably enough sheep to keep them going, even as they donate more and more to hate whitey groups
