Should I even apply for jobs with companies that have more than 100 employees?

Currently waiting to see if my religious exemption is accepted by my current employer who is a federal contractor and has implemented the vax mandate.

I’m applying for jobs in the event it isn’t accepted. How does everyone see the “companies with more than 100 employees” thing panning out? I’d hate to get a job somewhere else and then have to leave again.

They’ll come after smaller companies next.

But that at least kicks the can down the road.

100 employees is pretty low. I imagine it would be tough to find something decent at such a low employee level

It depends on your skill set. Another option would be to start your own business with others that are being ousted and take your clientele with you.

If you have an engineering degree ......100 and below is still six figures easily. Don't sell small companies short unless you are working 9-5

My company said it was a HIPPA violation to ask employees and coworkers.

I heard a radio caller say his lawyer advised him the same, and that he could easily mount a lawsuit against him if he asked so another lawyer could.

I hope people start suing companies denying religious and medical exemptions simply based on who gives them the right to judge either.

Yes.

My wife accepted a job last week at a company in B'ham with more than 100 employees and asked in the interview process if they would be implementing the mandate. They said no they would not be, many who work there are vaxxed and many aren't. If you want it, get it, if not no problem.

Her current company is a large insurance firm based in Chicago with offices in B'ham. They sent an email out right after Xiden's comments about the 100 employee mandate and that employees should be looking forward to the shot. She has had covid and is refusing the shot, same as me.

I work in construction. Small firm. <40 employees. Most of the guys with titles are making at least 100 - 150k.

Meh.

I'm in a town of barely over 3000 people and we have a company here (that I just applied to, fwiw) that employs about 45 total, and depending on your position your starting hourly pay is $22-42/hr.

Position I'm hoping to get will start me around 28, but I'll move up to around 35 with cross training within 18 months.

Small business is where it's at. But if the hammer does fall and the SCOTUS rules these mandates somehow Constitutional, then yes, small businesses will 100% be on the block with court precedent. It's imperative that SCOTUS strikes this down summarily, but I have my worries.

Must be weird living in bizarro world with so much unneeded anxiety. I guess you compensate for it by peacocking around here constantly looking for attention, so here it is.

You and me both. The fact that things have gotten this far is nuts, so it wouldn't shock me to see either a case actually get to the SCOTUS, or them ruling in Biden's favor. That 100% shouldn't happen, but it definitely wouldn't shock me...unfortunately.
