What about no voting unless you have filed a tax return. Attach a voter ID number to those returns to secure the vote...

You can file a return even without income and take the child tax credits. Our welfare class does it every year.

I think a period of mandatory service for both men and women like Israel or "Starship Troopers" before anyone can vote would be good. It might teach people to appreciate what it is they're voting for.

If you're not willing to go DIE for ISRAEL, than you shouldn't be able to vote, obviously.

If a husband and wife are both drafted - what happens to their kids?

Put in a provision so that doesn't happen.
So simple. Try harder prog filth

What if two gay men who have adopted are drafted? It's no different. Or if the wife was already deployed and husband is drafted....

I'm sure there is an exception or exemption for the situation for cohesity of family. Maybe only one gets drafted in that situation.

Another easy solution. Two gay men shouldn't be allowed to have a child. It's unnatural.

Truth. They’re either buying a baby that should go to a normal straight couple or exploiting a (usually poor) woman’s body with surrogacy.

Eligibility to vote is not determined in the Constitution.

By definition it is then a State Right… or do you NOT agree with Roe v Wade being overturned suddenly?

No one should have to register for the draft. Or only politicians should. Wars haven’t been fought to protect American freedoms in any of our lifetimes.

The only thing I might be able to argue is that politicians get out of the draft. Either medically, or move to Canada.
Ozzy's song Warpigs comes to mind with this conversation.

Once we look past all the political double talk, such as Vietnam, you're right about that.

Just for discussion purposes. My step father had to serve mandatory military service in Korea. And there are other countries, that require both men and women to serve.
If it came down to a choice between the two... Since I'm being honest when I say I don't see them repealing the draft... I'm not entirely sure which I'd pick.
Military service has its advantages here in the US. But it's not for everybody.

You do know that Biden and Trump both had 5 draft deferments, right?
Biden had 5 student deferments and Trump had 4 student and 1 medical for bone spurs.

So you’re basically restricting voting to males between 18-35?
