Perp shot and killed cashier. Perp and off duty deputy exchanged gunfire and are both at hospital. This is an all black area for those who are unfamiliar. Prayers for the reserve deputy who is a retired County PD officer.

It’s crazy to me that Atlanta is in two separate counties. Are there any other cities like this?

How does the jurisdiction work for various entities? Usually a city is either independent or wholly within a county. Never seen one split between two separate counties.

This wouldn’t be Atlanta proper, but likely a Decatur address, I’m guessing. But it’s definitely metro Atalanta hood ...and yes some of ATL proper is in DeKalb

It’s very common in Georgia to have cities in multiple counties, we have as many counties as Texas. The city I live in here is in 3 counties.

Editing for the certain personality types out there…. Georgia has more counties per square mile than Texas. We don’t literally have as many counties. See post below.

Dekalb and Cobb counties have become so shitty lately. The Zoo crowd is moving in at an astonishing rate

ETA I'm thinking of Gwinnett & Cobb... Dekalb has always been a shitehole

You can have an Atlanta postal address in three different counties actually.

Fulton, Cobb, DeKalb.

That's a lie. Georgia is 2nd only to texas, which implies one state has more than the other.

That exists everywhere. For example Wray GA addresses are in Coffee Irwin Telfair and Ben Hill counties.

I don’t know but I sure hope the cop got the better end of the stick.

Maybe it dealt with the severity of the wounds on each?

You are literal guy, eh?
Texas is 4.5x the size of Georgia
Georgia has 159 counties. Texas has 254 counties.
Georgia has a shite ton of counties.
It would stand to reason, cities in GA often likely to fall into multiple counties.

Dekalb hasn’t always been a shithole. Dunwoody is still borderline, but loaded to the gills with libs.

The New York boroughs are considered counties, they have a president and some government offices, but have lost most of their power to the city government of New York
