This does seem like a legitimate case of ageism. If you are competent why is an arbitrary age set for retirement?

I guess her daughter needs the cover so she can run her Democrat slush fund operation known as the Council on Aging.

Remind me which crooked bitch this is. Is this the one whose daughter is running the Council on Aging?

There's the problem. The reason for mandatory retirement is because we were ending up with too many senile judges. And how do you prove it and remove them?

This is a non-partisan, good government issue. Leave the law in place!

Are judges term limited?
If not I’m for an age cap.
You have to have some mechanism for change.

The electorate decides. These are elected positions.

The US Supreme Court has already decided this issue in Gregory v. Ashcroft.

You have it via an election...

An example of why judicial age limits are needed is RBG.

Yep, they tried that in 2014, the voters rejected it soundly.

The article says the cap was upheld via public referendum in 2014, which is very recent.

It’s been proven over and over that incumbents have an enormous advantage and it’s extremely hard for an opponent to unseat them.
Accordingly we’ve changed our constitution to add term limits to many offices because elections alone didn’t do the job.

That doesn’t matter at all. You cannot discriminate based on age. She will win this lawsuit soundly.

I agree with the majority of voters. Keep the cap.

This is not a term limit this is an arbitrary age limit. If you want term limits then include term limits. This is not it.
