There’s little question the authoritarian regime currently taking care of irresponsible Americans will show true compassion with additional healthcare related mandates to save irresponsible Americans from themselves.

Here’s the shocking truth people….

Annual alcohol related deaths: 100k
Annual tobacco related deaths: 480k
Annual deaths from obesity: 280k
Annual deaths from drug use: 70k

That’s nearly 850k needless lives lost to personal irresponsibility. I’m sure some of those stats overlap but we can all agree it’s well over 500k preventable deaths and that’s why we need mandates to save these irresponsible Americans from themselves.

I think we can all agree that vaccine mandates will not stop the Covid19 pandemic but mandates against alcohol, tobacco, unhealthy food and illicit drugs could save nearly a million lives annually. We’re very fortunate to have compassionate and righteous authoritarians looking out for our welfare.

Do you really think they'll take care of anyone or just make their party members more financially independent?

I mean this logic falls flat on its face though.

It's not about the number of deaths, it's the fact that infected COVID patients clog up ICUs which then end up filling up and putting other people at risk.

Obesity isn't clogging up ICUs and neither is Alcohol. They may take up hospital beds but there's enough capacity for that. ICU beds are much more staff intensive, which is the real problem.

I think the logic misses the entire reason that it was a crisis in the first place.

And firing health care workers who don't get the vaccine is supposed to help with these shortages how?

It's not about your health, it's about your obedience.

Part of this could be fixed by taking junk food OFF the food stamp eligibility list. But Big Ag will never allow it.

This is the quintessential post of dumbassery. The vast majority of Americans dying from Covid19 fall into the high risk category because of obesity, excessive alcohol consumption, use of tobacco, obesity….you’re flailing baw.

There’s no ICU or bed shortage in hospitals, it’s now staff shortages because people are quitting for personal reasons and forced vaccinations…..keep up.

Sadly many people believe it’s the govt job to protect you from yourself. They just think it’s for someone else…’protect those people’ mentality. Morons. Once they gain power they will expand it over and over again.

Sweet summer child….

Do you honestly believe this is happening because of covid cases and not poorly managed hospitals and staffing issues?

Ah yes, ICUs have been more full than ever and this increase is all non-pandemic-related?

You're still missing the point. Obesity and Alcohol are long-term illnesses that don't hospitalize someone within a few weeks.

It's why every European country enacted measures to tackle things. It's not just a conspiracy theory.

I am saying there are staffing issues. That's the whole point I was making.

ICUs are pretty staff-intensive and if people are infected/off-sick, that only furthers the staff shortage.

Those hospitals might be poorly managed but it still doesn't stop ICUs from clogging up. My parents both work in a hospital and they saw it with their own eyes.

Every European country has been taking it seriously for a reason. Unless you're arguing that this is somehow a conspiracy theory?
