How many people here have defended that? Since you made that assumption, just this weekend Trump said in a PC that the taxes are unfair when he was signing the EO to defer payroll taxes. I can’t find the exact quote (go figure, wouldn’t be reported by your beloved MSM of course), but he said something to the effect of “you’re surprised to hear that from a Republican but it’s true. The tax laws are unfair.” It was clear he was referencing exactly the scenario you are speaking of.

The worst part of his stupid argument is while 90 percent of media align with him, only 30 percent of Americans believe that media to be honest. So he’s still in the echo chamber minority.

9 out of 10 Germans thought Hitler was the greatest thing to happen to Germany and that the Holocaust was a great idea. Point is, just because most everyone else is a sheep and a fool doesn’t make them right. And only weak-minded, ignorant, un-principled people think that what is truth, justice, right, and wrong sways with what the masses think... NO SIR. Those things stand on their own merit no matter what the masses, propagandists, or libtards TRY to reshape them into.
