He doesn't come off well. Thoughts on him?

We have Cindy "Tanning" Hyde-Smith, and she is worse.

I have seen his knife in a sharper state. A little dull on the edges tonight. Little out of sorts and flustered.

He said this is the 12th strike by Iran and enough is enough basically. He said we have shown remarkable restraint but “weakness invites the wolves” and he’s spot on.

He comes across as every stereotype about ignorant southerners.

His front as a dumb Southerner is a total act; educated at Vanderbilt, UVa Law, and Rhodes scholar.

I don’t understand why Sen Kennedy pretends to be a folksy dumbass. He isn’t unintelligent by any means, but seemingly goes out of his way to communicate solely to people over 55 who live south of the Ohio River.

I was amused by Senator Kennedy for awhile, but his routine gets stale.

Seems like most of the best GOP politicians are in the House these days.

Doesn't come off well. How you figure? He may not have the most sophisticated way of speaking, but he generally makes a lot of sense.

Kennedy is a fairly solid conservative. He's just attempting to appeal to some of his base in Louisiana. He's actually from Mississippi.

He might not come off well to you, but he is easily the most intelligent guy in the Senate.

I’ve known him for 50+ years. He’s smart, real smart. He tries a little too hard to be folksy. He is by no means a country boy or folksy. I happen to enjoy his takes. Appeasement/weakness invites more wolves. Well communicated and the crux of the matter.

Fall guy. Unless he moved from Mississippi as an infant John is from LA and grew up in Zachary. I’ve known him for more than 50 years.

He made sense, but it was the words he used and delivery style. He used words boys and girls to describe military troops and serious as ___?__ heart attacks and a stroke. He didn't speak well and his delivery style was not polished.

As far as playing to his base, I'm convinced Haley Barber, former MS Governor, does the same thine.

Yep he knows trailer park Republican populists are his base, and he plays to them.

He is a smart guy, but his biggest weakness is he thinks he is a lot smarter than he is.

I love that guy and will never forget how effective his speaking skills were during the Kavanaugh hearings.
