Backbenchers have no power. The ones that said no sure had power didn't they? Jim Jordan reintroed a bill LINK why was it ignored?

LINK ]H.R.1436 - 115th Congress (2017-2018): To provide for reconciliation pursuant to title II of the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2017. | Congress.gov | Library of Congress

quote:

Today in a press conference, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) stated his intention to reintroduce the 2015 Obamacare repeal bill so that Congress could vote on a repeal of the 2010 Affordable Care Act.
And please don't tell me because it had no chance because it didn't have the votes. Why did it have the votes under Obama, when they knew he would veto it? It would have the votes if it wasn't Speaker Ryan's way or the highway. They were for this before, why not now?

It is a sick game of see-saw. When it comes down to it, I trust Jordan and Paul before I would Speaker Ryan.

I'm sorry but, The Rand Paul love is a mistake. This guy has no intention of doing anything, other than undermine Trump.

It's impossible to pass a real bill because the democrats will never agree. The GOP could put up a Bill for single payer funded by a billionaire tax and the democrats would oppose it.

I don't trust any of them

As long as Paul Ryan is speaker and McConnell is majority leader nothing conservative is going to get done.

No.

Rand couldn't give even less of a flying frick about Trump. All he cares about is staying completely pure to his beliefs and and never ever compromising them. It's admirable and respectable but not how the real world works.

They all voted YES for Jim Jordans H.R.1436 when Obama was POTUS, and knew he would veto it.

Why did they ignore this as a re-intro in early March, of which they all voted yes on already? Because it was Ryans lobbyists way or the highway.

So why isn't Ryan running to a microphone stating they will use one of the many bills Obama vetoed?

They can still Phase II one of them off to Price.

How many budgets did jug-ears have? One?

He did manage to double the national debt in 8 years. 10 trillion is quite an accomplishment. Nothing to show for it either.

I only agree on your overall premise of Rand Paul because I don't think the GOPe can chew gum and walk at the same time; and do both repeal Ocare and taxes. So therefore you're correct, it is unrealistic.

At least Rand Paul stood up with a solution, and for this he deserves kudos. Speaker Ryan just took his ball and ran home because his version of the game wasn't played.

There is absolutely no excuse for them to not use one of the best OCare repeals they tried under Obama; and adding all of their convoluted stuff and keep the pre-existing medical conditions.

In theory - fantastic.

In practical terms - meaningless.

The Republicans' internal divide in regards to healthcare were substantial before Trump got elected, and they'll be substantial after Trump is out of DC. We'll have all of the posters on the Rant 100% agree on who is the dirtiest program in the SEC before the GOP ever comes together on a healthcare bill.

They'd hurt themselves sprinting to the House/Senate to sign it into law.

I really hope Rand Paul makes a serious run for the White House. He has great ideas, and actually cares about this country, and it's future.

Going to have to wait until 2024.

He had his chance in 2016 and no one wanted him.

Ridiculous how you clowns think he had the nomination stolen from him and got a majority of the vote. That's how you Rand Paul dick suckers act around here.

He was rejected.

And I was a big fan of Ron Paul.

If Rand continues to stand up to Trump while Trump continues to shite the bed, a 2020 primary challenge isn't out of the question.
