The Emoluments Clause, specifically the Foreign Emoluments Clause, is a provision in Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 of the U.S. Constitution. It prohibits individuals holding "any Office of Profit or Trust under them" (the United States) from accepting any "present, emolument, office, or title" from any foreign king, prince, or state, without the consent of Congress. Essentially, it prevents foreign powers from potentially influencing U.S. officials through gifts, benefits, or other forms of compensation.

It's a bribe. Also, the only reason he lifted sanctions against Syria was because they promised him a hotel.

I guess you missed this part:

quote:

The US Constitution generally prohibits the President, and all federal employees, from accepting gifts from foreign governments without the consent of Congress. However, there are exceptions, and Congress has often allowed for the acceptance of gifts of "minimal value". Gifts from foreign governments exceeding a certain value are considered gifts to the people of the United States and must be purchased from the General Services Administration.

It's a gift to the United States, not Trump. Try harder next time.

Your kids couldn't make it in anyway. It's not woke and they don't put tampons in the bathrooms.

Why did you link me to this?

quote:

Syria's oil and gas are part of Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa's strategic pitch to try to get face time with U.S. President Donald Trump during his trip to the Middle East, according to several sources familiar with the push to woo Washington.

quote:

To be clear, a Trump-Sharaa meeting during the U.S. president's visit to the region is widely seen as unlikely, given Trump's packed schedule, his priorities and lack of consensus within Trump's team on how to tackle Syria. A source familiar with ongoing efforts said a high-level Syria-U.S. meeting was set to take place in the region during the week of Trump's visit, but that it would not be between Trump and Sharaa.

If it had been given to Biden then yes it would have ended up in Biden’s Library

It was linked to show you that trump is negotiating for himself, not the US. Gift to the US? When do you get to use it?

There are about five posters right now that bring the IQ of the board down to well below the average democrat voter. This sociopath is one of them. Ignore it and it will go away. It need attention to feed its disorder.

Did Trump negotiate/close a deal or receive a gift?

What is saying that both didn't happen?

Started as negotiations under Biden regime, and continued under Trump administration, Qatar then offers as a gift, certainly plausible.
