Crenshaw replied with a form letter as well after the Ukraine funding.

They don't care.

The fact that his response starts with this is all you need to know. Cornyn may not be one, but Gun Grabbers sit and wait for these shootings and then giddily use them to push further legislation.

I'm not sure what these GOP idiots don't understand about "compromise" with The Left. There IS no compromise. The is no deal that once made they won't come back to the next day demanding further concessions. When it comes to firearms this only ends ONE WAY for The Left, and that's a total confiscation of citizen held guns. Giving them ANYTHING simply gets us closer to that goal. because the next time they want to make a deal, we'll be starting from this new normal position.

School shootings are simply not a problem of any size we should be concerned about

in 2019 there were 8 people killed in school shootings.
out of approx 50 million students.
that's about on par with your odds of winning a single state lottery.

In comparison - it's pretty rate, but there are about 200 children under the age of 16 murdered by their mothers every year.

In 2021, there were, I think 15 killed and 65 injured. Literally, driving to school is many times more dangerous than being at school. And don't get me started on the junk they are pushing into young bodies in the school cafeterias - setting them up for a lifetime of poor habits and metabolic disease.

He wants to take a run at the Speaker position, and wants to tackle Immigration when the DEMS are in charge?? Just baffling.

Who was the last Democrat who became more like a Republican or even just tried to kiss up to them a bit, in order to "take a run at the Speaker position"?

Or I'm guessing in this case you really meant Senate Leader, but lets apply either or both for the sake of my question.

To be clear, we are not talking about restricting or limiting the rights of current law-abiding gun owners. We need targeted reforms to ensure existing laws keep guns out of the hands of criminals and those who have been adjudicated as mentally ill. The Constitution guarantees the right to keep and bear arms, and I strongly oppose any effort to infringe on that right.

frick him and everyone who supports red flag laws that will almost exclusively strip law-abiding gun owners of their guns. Red flag laws do nothing but take guns away without the individual being able to defend themselves in court and then potentially not get those guns back even when they do prevail after the initial gun confiscation.
