Jindal would probably veto it if it passes.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I just can't see Nevers' goal here. Or what's in it for him. I wonder what legislation is getting proposed or votes cast for his benefit in return?

Nevers probably did it as a favor to a BR legislator, such as Claitor.

Or maybe there is an incorporation drive happening in his area that he opposes. I don't know where he represents.

Has anybody asked Bodi White to clarify what the bill intended to mean regarding the point in the OP?

Bodi has stopped taking my phone calls.

Unless you are BREC where he can make himself a healthy sum of change on shady real estate deals with his boss, I am sure he won't take your calls. Central residents got screwed by him over the new park and half of it is closed because his boss didn't want to spend the cash and do the road improvements that DOTD requested.

Yeah, I remember reading about that.

Well that cinches it. We know just how good your reading comprehension is.

You start the thread on false analysis, and you continue the thread by bashing Bodi White and Central because you really have nothing of substance to add to the OP.

You're coming pretty close to fitting the definition of stalking me.

9-2+2=11

Explain that without calling Bodi White names.

Never mind, we know you can't.

Surprise, surprise. Nevers wrote me back.

Thank you for your email on SB 674. If this bill negatively affects your efforts in any way, I will gladly meet with your leadership to discuss the issue.

No explanation, but a response is more than I expected from a leg.

I agree, especially since you're not even in his district.

How did you word your email to him? I mean, other than calling him an un-American, effin' idiot.

I read with great dismay your bill proposing a moratorium on new municipal incorporation in the state. I have to question the intent in doing so, as it seems like a bill designed to derail the current St. George incorporation effort by forcing a halt and then a restart to the effort under new rules which have yet to be determined.

I would fully support the bill were it to state that any effort underway as of the effective date of the legislation would be allowed to continue under current rules. As written, the bill seems a slap in the face of citizens who are trying to create a new city for their families using the existing and accepted law of our state.

I must vehemently protest this bill and respectfully request you withdraw it from consideration until such time as it can be rewritten in such a way that it will not "change the rules in the middle of the game."

Thank you for your consideration of my concerns,

This is what I wrote. And I did let him know I was not in his district.

Very well written email to him. Like you, I'm surprised he responded. I'll give him credit for doing that.

I e-mailed Bodi White this morning.

He responded to me in a prompt manner, and told me the tax could not go over 9%. He also told me he could not appoint himself to the transition board.
