I grew up in a middle class neighborhood with virtually no crime. About ten years ago, a POS who owns multiple homes in the neighborhood decided to divide his properties into two and rent them Sec 8. Well, the neighborhood quickly went to shite and we hauled arse out of there. Now someone was just murdered in the house I grew up in. Thank you Section 8.

Section 8 may be bad in some ways, but it allows folks who can't afford the market rate for rents to have a place to live.

Do you want more homeless families?

the market rate would be much lower if the subsidized rates were taken out, if anyone needs compassion, its those who actually work for their money, subsidize those who don't work, then pay more for rent because it has been artificially inflated. There is plenty of charitable people in America, the government needs to GTFO

Perhaps we can change the following to -

Can't house and feed?
Don't breed!

I agree that section 8 creates a moral hazard, but what is the alternative?

They swim rather than sink. The threat of homelessness might motivate some to get their lives together. Or, they move in with relatives.

Church groups, Salvation Army, other charitable organizations and non-profit help groups. We should be empowering people not enabling them.

Unless they don't have the physical or mental capabilities to take care of themselves, then their arse is homeless unless they find somewhere to work.

With these kinds of things I ask "does it violate the laws of nature as we know it?" In this case it does. We are all not meant to succeed. Some of us are meant to die off. We should not be passing on genes that cannot hack it. If you can't find a way to fulfill your needs then oh well. Natural Selection is a bitch.

There's an organization here in Bham called The Jimmy Hale Mission. They are a faith based non-profit that works with homeless men and women on a variety of issues like drug rehab, job training, and other skills. I did some work for them many years ago. The director told me that there was a percentage of people that were always gonna be homeless. He also said that the worst thing you could do for them was enable them through handouts and alike.

Other things that violate laws of nature:

Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeons

Do you hate little babies with heart defects?

It seems like the case for every city large and small that any type of government housing leads to crime and other issues. Construction workers love Government funded projects because it puts you into prevailing wage. Cops hate section 8 because they have to deal with the problems that arise from it.
