So you are saying they would allow armed people approach the person they have sworn to protect?
The SS does not exist to keep all armed personnel away from POTUS. They exist to protect POTUS from those who might attempt to do him some form of extra-legal harm.

I suspect that they would have handled things much differently. But this was not about what they are saying this is about.
Doing shite like this was a message from Wray and Garland.....although I understand that Wray is not really calling the shots on these things pertaining to Trump or his associates. Some Deputy Director is.

Do FBI agents have to be armed?
Agents are allowed to carry personal weapons, provided they do not violate the policies regarding firearms. Unless otherwise instructed, agents are required to be armed at all times.
Unless they were specifically ordered not to carry, they would be armed.

No. The execution of the warrant had already been coordinated between the FBI and the director of the Secret Service. SS knew they were coming.

This. It was all already coordinated. Two Federal LE divisions aren't going to get in a pissing contest about this. The USSS and the FBI take the same oath and obey the same master. The USSS is charged with protecting POTUS (and others), but they do not swear allegiance to POTUS (or any other protectee) and they do not take orders from POTUS or any other protectee that would contravene the carrying out of the laws of the US.

There's no way secret service was at Maralago if Trump himself wasn't there... Which he wasn't. They are not there's to protect his home. They are there to protect him
