It's 8.50 here, what do you think it should be? I wouldn't have a problem with it going up a smidgen. Pretty sure we don't pay any of our part timers (college kids) less than 10 at our places but I do think that's too much for everyone to pay in all jobs.
ETA: After looking at some numbers we are just fine, in fact, pretty dang generous if you play the 'living' wage mantra (of which I do not agree).
Arkansas min wage 8.50 cost of living indices calc based on avg of 100 - 83.4
California min wage 10.50 cost of living indices calc based on avg of 100 - 152.3
New York min wage 9.75 cost of living indices calc based on avg of 100 - 180

It has nothing to do with being liberal or conservative.
Mouthbreathers like this guy are how Bernie happens.

This is due to government intervention into the free market. The answer, clearly, is more government intervention.

Looking at the research showed a elasticity of labor demand of 3. That's pretty elastic and should let Seattle know that their move to $13/hr was dumb.
HHM, this goes back to the question you asked the other day.

Well all the studies agree that it's harmful, therefore, completely negating your "need" and throwing it into the "good intentions with disastrous effects" category. Good job sport!

Hmmm, common sense is usually borne out of agreed upon facts. Again, see above.

lol at low IQs
funding was stopped because ALL the other studies found the opposite and this one had poor methodology

This campaign will simply push the poor out of the city. Prices will rise and the jobs will disappear leaving the poor with no option but leaving.

indeed, if you can't afford to pay the employees you need to run your business a living wage, your business model doesn't work and you should not be running a business

I always wonder if, when liberals spout this line, they've thought through its implications?
I mean, they can't have done so. That much is clear.

So the roll of a business is to provide pay to workers? Last is checked it was to make money and the by product work work.
So by ur logic is better to have no jobs then starter/workforce entry jobs.

Someone doesn't understand how inflation is also affected by an increase in wages
