Both only help you and have no effect on others. They both should be personal choice. Why does the government make laws to prevent personal choice?

Public roads.
Made by tax dollars, the gov't has more say in what goes on those roads.

How many times have a seatbelt killed someone?!?!?

Wrong. An unrestrained passenger can take out a driver. An unrestrained driver could lose control unnecessarily.

All roads should be private, they would be cheaper and better.

A seatbelt is what nearly killed me in a car accident.
Ripped my mesentery to shreds and severed my small intestine. Almost internally bled to death before emergency surgery saved me.
frick forced vaccinations and frick that analogy.

No one forces you to drive. And when you do it’s a tiny portion of your day, generally.
A vaccine is much different

If you cause an accident and go through the windshield, you just made someone else look at your bloody, mangled corpse.
It effects others. Get it through your skull.

Seatbelts have killed people actually, but it’s rare.

I have a friend that is a retired Fire Department Captain and paramedic. He worked hundreds of car accidents where people had to be extracted from the remains of the vehicle, not once did he have a fatality where the occupant was wearing a seatbelt, it can happen, but is incredibly rare.

One can unbuckle a seat belt anytime they want.
That said, in the larger context I agree with personal choice. Flu kills every year, even unfortunately the occasional shocking “they were young and the epitome of health” tragedy.
They used to try to educate and encourage a flu shot but left it to each individual’s personal choice and everyone largely seemed to be accepting of that year to year with no subsequent break down in society.
What a concept, huh.

Kind of like the China Virus.

Babylon Bee reported yesterday that the new CDC guideline is…
“Seatbelts are recommended for use while outside the car”
