quote:

"This is a calling today, for all coaches, to take this leadership opportunity,” Carroll said, per Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune. “Never before this year has it ever been this deep, this rich with our players to teach us what it’s like to be a Black man in America….white people don’t know. The Black people can’t scream anymore [than they have].

“Black people know the truth. They know exactly what is going on. White people don’t know. This is a white-people issue to get over… maybe there’s a new door to walk through, to do what’s right. And what’s right is to treat people equally.

“They are crying out,” Carroll said of his players.

“Can you imagine how long Black people have hung on with the belief that it’s going to be better?… Racism is out the door. Get rid of it.”

Carroll then called on Americans to participate in a “Sixty days to march, a commitment to vote” action leading up to the general election on November 3.

Only if a black man is killed by a white person. If it's a black man doing the shooting then it's ok.

How could anyone still not think that THIS is what it’s all about? How could it be anymore obvious?

This is so fricking pathetic and try hard. Just quadrupling down on this crap.

I hope all the fans say frick this shite and walk away. I say this as someone who hasn't given a frick about the NFL for a long arse time (I know it is cliche at this point but whatever).

Maybe we should go fight a cop so we can put ourselves in their shoes.

This type of virtual signaling does far more harm than good.

Amazing to spin "vote for change" while just ignoring that the cities with the most issues have been run by Democrats their entire lives.

I hope he makes a stand later tonight, when another innocent 10-20 people are killed by senseless violence in inner cities?

How many NFL players are registered to vote?

How many vote in every election?

I’ll reserve my judgement for now, but I’m skeptical about their commitment to combating the issue beyond a few rah rah, platitudinous words inside the locker room where wokeness is more present than objectivity.

100% of the state of Washington could vote for Biden and it wouldn't make a bit of difference.

To be fair Pete Carroll was a whiney douche way before all this became popular.

When he was at USC he'd show up in the ghetto at night weekly to talk to gang members trying to coach em up about life. I think he still has foundations that work for inner city kids. Who knows if any of it made a difference but one thing you cant say is that he's ignored ghetto violence.
