The OP's post is incorrect. SCOTUS only ruled that Trumps dismissals could stand while the merits of the case are argued in lower courts. A full decision is expected in 2026.
Below is from Grok.
Below is from Grok.
quote:
SCOTUS Emergency Actions (Shadow Docket): On May 22, 2025, in an unsigned 6-3 order in Trump v. Wilcox, the Court stayed lower-court orders reinstating Wilcox and Harris, allowing their removals to stand temporarily while litigation proceeds. The majority emphasized the president's Article II removal power, but this was not a merits ruling on Humphrey's Executor—it was an interim measure to avoid "disruptive" agency instability. Justices Kagan, Sotomayor, and Jackson dissented, arguing the order effectively bypassed precedent without full briefing or argument.
On September 22, 2025, in a similar 6-3 order in Trump v. Slaughter, the Court stayed a district court injunction blocking Slaughter's removal from the FTC, again permitting it to proceed pending review. This explicitly queued the case for merits arguments in December 2025, with briefing ordered on whether FTC removal protections violate separation of powers and if Humphrey's Executor should be overruled.
No Final Merits Decision Yet: These stays signal the conservative majority's skepticism toward Humphrey's Executor (building on narrower rulings like Seila Law LLC v. CFPB in 2020, which invalidated single-director agency protections). The Trump DOJ has urged overruling the precedent outright, aligning with Project 2025's push for unitary executive power. However, as of today, Humphrey's Executor remains binding law. A full decision is expected in 2026, potentially carving out exceptions (e.g., for the Federal Reserve to avoid market disruption).

Our system is built to reject consolidated control like the "Unified Executive" theory Trump's admin keeps pushing.
You can call your Congressman. You can't call the President.
Yet, the only position in our federal government that every legal citizen can vote for is POTUS. Im not saying Congress isn't important, but POTUS absolutely represents the will of the people.

Impossible
I was told earlier he doesn't represent anyone because you can't call him
But a Congressman actually does. Lol

Correct. One is much more representative of a particular individual. Must more responsive and threatened by its local constituents, too.
You get 100 people in whatever county you're in to express how angry they are with Trump and it means literally nothing.
You get 100 people in your county to call your rep? Much higher chance of a response or doing what they're told.

SCOTUS just restored Trump’s constitutional power to remove rogue commissioners
I hope Trumps team has the pink slips ready for all the commissioners that have been acting like punks since his first term.

Six hours in and after multiple clarifications (even on the first page), dumbasses are still taking this shite at face value.
I don't know if that is amazing or just sad.

Melting? I'm laughing at the unashamed ignorance on display. Your bar for a "melt" must be very, very low.

Lulz
When has Congress gathered enough votes to remove the head of any independent agency? Their excuse has always been, "Well they are independent. We cant intervene"
Thats not how a republic works
A republic is supposed to be run by the will of the people. But when you have our elected representatives establishing "independent agencies", they are setting them up to act outside of our control.
The supremes should make it clear that once an agency has been created, they answer to the will of the people, through their duly elected administrator
This is the point where I remind you Congress was never intended to execute the functions of the govt. Specifically because they were viewed as citizens first and legislators sporadically. Just because they drew up laws that allowed them to work in DC daily, doesnt change the plain language of our founding documents that they arent there to administrate

LINK?
That sounds like a straw man
quote:
Thats not how a republic works
Congress acting for citizens is literally the most accurate manifestation of a republic in our system

A republic is supposed to be run by the will of the people.
That's Congress's role

You seem confused as to what "independent agencies" means
The straw man above makes sense now.
