Schumer is the Trump whisperer. How embarrassing is Trump when he brings up money after they got whipped out by a major hurricane? Pathetic

quote:
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) ripped President Trump on Tuesday after he appeared to joke that Puerto Rico recovery efforts had “thrown our budget a little out of whack."
"Mr. President, enough. Stop blaming Puerto Rico for the storm that devastated their shores, and roll up your sleeves and get the recovery on track. That’s your job as president," Schumer told reporters during a weekly leadership press conference.
Schumer added he didn't remember Trump complaining that Texas "threw our budget out of whack after Harvey. Or Florida after Irma."
Trump noted the enormous cost associated with the hurricane relief and rescue mission in Puerto Rico during a meeting with officials in San Juan earlier Tuesday.
“I hate to tell you, Puerto Rico, but you've thrown our budget a little out of whack because we spent a lot of money on Puerto Rico, and that's fine,” Trump said. “We saved a lot of lives.”
Schumer said Trump's remark, which come as Republicans are pushing tax reform, "boggles the mind."
"To have the gall to complain about Puerto Rico throwing our budget out of whack – while proposing tax cuts for millionaires that will cost trillions of dollars – boggles the mind, boggles the mind. ...Stop the blame game," he told reporters.
Democrats have ripped Trump for his disaster relief efforts in Puerto Rico, which they argue are moving too slowly. A majority of the country's electric grid remains offline, as well as most cell phone towers.

Missed the part where Trump blamed Puerto Rico for the storm.
I did see the part where Trump said resources are spread thin since we are dealing with 2 major hurricane landfalls in the U.S. at the same time. Not sure FEMA was ever envisioned or manned to deal with 3 at once.
No limit to what career politicians like Schumer can come up with in the perpetual drive to say "gotcha" ...

If Republicans in the Senate weren't such pathetic douche bags Trump could put Schumer in his place pretty quick.
Call him into the Oval and a simple "shut your god damned mouth or you and your party will get NOTHING for the next 7 years. " There is absolutely no reason for this dickhead to hold a press conference to complain about every little fricking thing Trump says or does.

Are you bipolar? Serious question because you change your positions on Trump daily.

When did we ratify Puerto Rico as a state?

Oh my god, you candy arse pansies.
It's called deflection, and Freud wrote quite a bit about it. It's not always appropriate, but MANY (if not most) respond positively to humor in a situation where spirits need to be lifted.
I'm going to a funeral tomorrow for a 17 year old that hanged himself. CLEARLY not a place for it, but you still look for ways to lift people up.
In a place like PR, where they have had everybody talk incessantly about how miserable things are, humor is probably exactly what they need. You may say this is valid, but his comment is not funny. Maybe, but we are not there. We can't gauge the room. I do know that poking fun at people is often received as a message that they are part of the team, and not a way to demean them.
There is no way this post will change the minds of people who are convinced Trump is the anti-Christ, but I am tired of people projecting their own misery and lack of any humor or resilience into situations where they have zero context or connection.
Honestly, media and liberals are some of the most depressing, cynical, and mean people in the world. So many completely are devoid of the ability to connect to people they are not immediately in line with.
