A South Carolina woman who said being pulled over for speeding by a “white cop” was a “traumatic experience” is having her story questioned after police body camera footage from the incident showed a less intense series of events unfolding.

Dawn Hilton-Williams, in a Facebook Live video on April 27, accused a Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office sergeant of racism after she was ordered to sign a summons asking her to appear in court or pre-pay a traffic ticket. The officer said he clocked her going 70mph in a stretch of rural Route 58 in Virginia that has a 55mph limit.

“It doesn’t matter how polite you are, it’s all sick, crazy bullying and the police are ridiculous,” Hilton-Williams says in the 11-minute video, at times wiping tears from her face and speaking in a frightened tone.

But in video footage released Monday by the sheriff’s office, when confronted with the summons – Hilton-Williams immediately starts questioning the officer where there are signs that say the area has a 55mph limit.

She went on an 11 minute FB rant about how she was threatened by the officer and that all black people know how she feels. And white people need to know.

Then there's the video from his body cam and that tells a different story. Apparently saying "please, thank you, and ma'am" is threatening language.

I post this because I'm not so blind to think that all cops are complete boy scouts. Most of them are really great people doing a very hard job. But there are some that abuse the power that they can wield. I'm all for purging those types out.

But when you publicize false flags like this over and over, it ends the conversation faster than it started and it makes the next time something flares up even harder to discuss.

Best part is what the cop said:

“Yeah, no warnings today ma’am,” he responds.

If I were a cop I would hire a camera crew to follow me around.

The ACLU is backing off body cams now because of so many cases like this where it vindicates the police and proves the accuser a liar.

I wonder how much tax payer money is wasted on such bogus claims? Send her a bill and garnish wages if she fails to remit payment. If filing claims against public servants - golden goose - is fair game then then the gander shouldn't expect otherwise.

There should be consequences for people like "Miss" H-W.

There is some funny stuff on that show. But seriously, if I were a cop I would want my every engagement with the public duly recorded for my protection. Too easy for some "victim" to distort what actually occurred.

I remember that episode.

That would make great ad for the hotel.

You will not win in VA. I've learned that the hard way many times.

Slow down and obey the law, stupid bitch. Or just pay your fricking ticket like us honkeys do.

It won't stop as long as the media keeps giving these "victims" their 15 minutes of fame.

Corporations also need to quit apologizing and bending over backwards every time someone mentions the word "racism"

My favorite part of the bodycam video is when the cop goes back to the patrol car to run the plates and there is country music playing on the radio. I bet that triggered the frick out of some people watching the video

Also "there were no speed limit signs" is a pretty fricking stupid thing to say to being told you were going 70mph. Unless you are on the interstate, the speed limit is not 70.

Now, why did I already know the person complaining of racism was going to be a belligerent arse?
