quote:

His words came in the form of a letter which Jones said he might send to Al Gore. “It says this: To all the school kids going on strike for climate change, you’re the first generation who have required air conditioning in every room. You want TV in every room, and your classes are all computerized. You spend all day and night on electronic devices,” said Jones

quote:

More than ever, you don’t walk or ride bikes to school,” he continued, “but you arrive in caravans of private cars that choke suburban roads and worsen rush hour traffic.” “You’re the biggest consumer of manufactured goods ever, and update perfectly good expensive luxury items to stay trendy,” said Jones. “Your entertainment comes from electric devices. Furthermore, the people driving your protests are the same people who insist on artificially inflating the population growth through immigration which increases the need for energy, manufacturing and transport.” “The more people we have, the more forest and bushland we clear, the more of the environment that’s destroyed” continued Jones.

quote:

“How about this,” said Jones, “tell your teacher to turn off the air-con, walk or ride to school, switch off your devices and read a book, make a sandwich instead of buying manufactured fast food.” “But none of this will happen because, the piece says, you’re selfish, badly educated, virtue-signaling little turds inspired by the adults around you who crave a feeling of having a noble cause while they indulge themselves in western luxury and unprecedented quality of life. The piece ends by saying wake up, grow up, and shut up until you’re sure of the facts before protesting.”

The confrontational approach isn't going to win very many converts.

Better to take the "being green isn't always what you think" course. Or leave out the "you're a bunch of stupid virtue signallers" in favor of "be the change you want to see - you can make a difference right now by doing this".

So stupid. I didn’t realize kids decided to require AC and technology in their classrooms. Both things that could be powered with clean energy. No need to turn back the hands of time to “sacrifice” for the environment. Such a short aides boomer response.

bullshite. These people are telling us that we have a decade to live. Is it too much to ask that they NOT be the fricking apex consumers in the carbon economy?

Obama just dropped 20 million on a mansion on a tiny island. Al Gore uses more electricity in one year than the average American uses in 21 years and owns an ocean front villa.

The hypocrisy needs to be called out.

No. The “twerpy climate change kids” as the OP so lovingly called them are simply asking that governments and corporations LISTEN to the scientists that have spoken on this matter and then act accordingly.

But loud arse boomers are just gleefully passing along problems they created to their children and grandchildren and have the nerve to label these younger generations “entitled”. Posts like the OPs that you all love to circle jerk to, are a testament to that.

I agree 100%. That's why I like fossil fuels, beef, and I'm against the green new deal.

So... they get on planes, trains, buses, into cars, and trucks, then travel for long time periods, to group together, requiring extra food and water to be shipped to their gatherings, so they can then, every individual, livestream their participation in a series of protests, requiring extra personnel to supervise and maintain law & order...

Makes perfect sense to do this in order to conserve and lessen the use of energy that is primarily "greenhouse gas" driven.

You do you, my ignorant dude. My point was that green technology already exists so there’s no point in challenging these “twerpy kids” to A/Cless classrooms if they really care about the classroom. My point is it’s just another stupid boomer with some weak arguments.

What if I told you renewable energy will soon be the economical choice? Will you continue to hold onto fossil fuels then? Nah. You’ll probably be dead before you can see the damage you’ve done. (Can’t wait!)

You say that as if man made climate change is a fact. Do you really think taxing hard working Americans will solve whatever BS issue you leftist are crying about?

I'm not a boomer, your excuses don't work on me. Try harder.

Also, not all the global protestors arrived to the same protest, you dolt. They were all over the world, in thousands of cities, for the exact reason of making it accessible with relative low emissions. They made signs with cardboard. They picked up litter and left the protest sites better than when they got there.

The scientists that disagree with the panic option tend to be ignored or vilified in the media.

Can you tell us when the climate rapture is going to happen?

If they don't travel there using standard forms of transportation readily available, then I guess they use some sort of Star Trek teleportation device that has to have a power source. Or are you suggesting they just spontaneously appear out of thin air?

And these people who spend hours in the weather, on their feet, have no need for food/water since they spontaneously appear/disappear I guess? Or does food/water just appear out thin air too?

It's a public event these scheduled, arranged protests. It really is no different mechanically than a sporting event or big concert. It takes logistics to get the people in/out, get services to/from, support, etc..

I am not the one here who has no clue about these things.

Prove me wrong and explain to us all, slowly, we're not erudite as you obviously.
