These people, who are claiming they are exercising the Freedom of Religion rights, will be the first ones to screech foul against Right to Life groups.

This Shellie Flockhart lady clearly has already done what you've recommend to me.

Believers in Christ won't want idols to be erected in the public square and in the halls of political power. They'll feel compelled to fight against public honors given to His enemy.

The footsoldiers may be misguided incels, losers, tools of the Left (my personal opinion). Behind these unfortunates is a spirit of wickedness.

quote:

Flockhart organized a prayer group on Wednesday around the Christmas tree in the center of the rotunda to oppose the satanic display near the stairwell. She calls it dark and evil and says Christians should spiritually fight against it.

"I hope that people realize spiritual warfare is real. That there are evil satanic forces that are trying to infiltrate our state," she said.

What’s next?

Will the “religion” of climate catastrophism be included?

And that's the thing.

Many atheists claim that atheism is not a "religious" view at all because they lack a belief in any deity.

But when they want to troll and wrap themselves in the constitution to do it, all of a sudden they are "Satanists" who belong to a real religion.

They need to make them pick one. Which is it?

Satanists are a specific form of atheists, a really annoying/cringey type. This is a specific plan for attention

I get that, but the popular atheist claim still stands.

If not having a belief in a deity = no way this can be a religion, then...

It’s the perfect troll. You tell a huge group of people their boogie man is a misunderstood icon. Even when clearly and consistently stating their atheist views, Christians quote a non-biblical line popularized by a Kevin Spacey movie to further swallow the troll bait.

There’s a lot of societal ills and threats to decency and good family values. A dozen losers in Iowa are low on the list.

All people are religious and worship something. More and more worship humanity (themselves, in particular) or some other created thing like the earth.

Having the capacity and desire to worship does not mean that your brand of atheism should be a recognized religion, though. The Satanic Temple was created to mock religion, to mock the Christian God in particular, and to espouse the “religion” (more like an ideology) of humanism. When people say that the ST are trolling religion, that isn’t far off at all.

They manufactured one to rile up Christians and call out perceived violations of the separation of Church and state

This is neither a difficult, nor large, concept.

Why couldn't this have been done in January or Feb instead these people are picking more Christian related times of years for a reason to push their evil shite.

There are about half a billion Buddhists in the world and they don't claim a deity, either. Still a religion.

Eh... not really. The one true Buddhist who was in my religous studies/philosophy classes termed it a "spiritual philosophy," which is probably the most accurate description.

Probably also why you do not see Buddhists insiting on putting up "spiritual displays" during Christmas. They're at least self-aware.

Because their sole reason for existing is to troll Christians.

Most of them just want to be relevant. Youre dealing with millennials who spend way too much time in moms basement and need to feel relevant. They do so by trolling.

I imagine it's because it's more likely that Christian symbols are put in public areas around Christmas, due to the Jesus mythology.

*ETA: I'm using "mythology" to describe the association between Jesus and Christmas, and making no comment as to the actual existence of Jesus.
