The Hill
So Sarah Sanders tweeted this:
The left goes crazy posting things like:
Im reading the "gave his life" as he devoted his life to making the world a better place and kudos to Sanders for recognizing it.
I think this is a good example of our society today...we are too quick to jump to conclusions.
What sayeth the board?
So Sarah Sanders tweeted this:
quote:
Today we honor a great American who gave his life to right the wrong of racial inequality. Our country is better thanks to his inspiration and sacrifice #MLKDay
The left goes crazy posting things like:
quote:
He was murdered, Sarah
quote:
He didn't "give" his life, you bird. It was taken from him by a white racist. Shut up.
quote:
"Gave his life" is a weird way to write "murdered by a white supremacist in coordination with the feds"
Im reading the "gave his life" as he devoted his life to making the world a better place and kudos to Sanders for recognizing it.

These people are mentally ill

So they're admitting non-whites can be racist.
Interesting...

You read it correctly. Sane people should ignore those fools.

Of course SJWs would find something wrong with "Love your neighbor"
"Ugh, you should love everyone, not just neighbors, Jesus."
frick them all in their oversensitive counts.

Leftism is a mental disorder.

This was a nice tweet from the Administration. These responses are ... unhinged.

I'm sure it won't be long that someone finds an almost identical quote or tweet from the Obama White House.

Agree with this. Twitter is a cesspool.

So... they are acting as they normally do.

The problem isn't context...they simply don't like the person. In other words, out of the mouths (or fingers) of a (D) politician, no problems.

Either reading can be accurate and non-controversial.

I mean, NO ONE uses the phrase "gave his life" to mean committed suicide. So. By definition, if you end up killed for your actions/beliefs, you "gave your life".
Just ask any Soldier if that phrase means something strange like these dumb lefties are taking it.

King's own family don't believe he was murdered by James Earl Ray. Neither does the judge who presided over the case.
Posted on 1/21/19 at 1:59 pm to PaperTiger
She meant it the same way we say soldiers “give” their last full measure of devotion.
Dr. King knew he was on the frontlines of a battle.

That is something strange for people to get mad over. Yes, he was murdered. Quite possibly by the FBI, i dont really know for sure. Were they racist, more than likely.
But that is literally the exact same as saying he gave his life for his cause. Instead of working as a normal preacher, giving a word on Sunday mornings and whatever his day-to-day job was. He devoted his entire life to his beliefs. He could have been an ordinary black man facing racism in the south just trying to make a living. But he decided to become the face of black people everywhere. He faced numerous numerous death threats. Yet he persevered. His home was bombed. Not only his life, but his entire family's life was in danger. Yet he persevered. He knew the sacrifice, yet he did not stop.
Idk, that sounds like "giving his life" to me.
