Sarah Palin: Trump's Carrier deal is 'crony capitalism'

This makes me so happy for two reasons.

1.) No cabinet or cushy gov't job for her as we don't need her making this a circus.

2.) Someone on the right tells it like it is with carrier and Trump.

I don't deny that Trump's deal smacks of cronyism and favoritism and this deal was entirely spearheaded though Pence and Holcomb's muscle with Trump as the negotiator and it's not something conservatives should be a fan of. Targeted tax breaks are still a subsidy.

However, it's great politics on Trump's part because the casual follower of politics thinks Trump might as well have saved the jobs himself and he has the magic touch right now and democrats look bad.

Oh so the deal is not contingent on them keeping jobs in the United States? It's just a naked play to protect carrier profits? I mean, the tax breaks that carrier is getting don't even come close to the amount that they would save if they were going to Mexico.

The Trump Administration is going to go beyond my wildest dreams in terms of sheer entertainment.

Careful, you are getting dangerously close to misrepresenting my position.

It's political theatre...some are very susceptible to it.

And in an apparent jab at Trump, whom she famously endorsed in a rambling speech earlier this year,

This is why people hate the media

Why the need for this adjective in a news story. Its an opinion of the writer. Just detail that Palin had endorsed him. But . . . . when you can just add your own set of adjectives, it allows you to take potshots at 2 people you don't like, in the same story

News people are akin to used cars salesmen, at this point in our history

How in the actual frick is it "crony" when Trump and the Carrier people never met each other before the last few months?

Maybe she will go the route of the other professional "Republicans" are always the media go to sources for their "even some Republicans disagree" stories.

David Stockman made a career of that for over 30 years. Every time he'd say the same shite the media would ooh and ahh like it was fresh and new...for 30 fricking years.

Republicans oppose this, remember? Instead, we support competition on a level playing field

Except we aren't on a level playing field with Mexico right now in terms of wages and regulations. The general premise that every company should get this type of treatment equally is the reason why trump wants to lower corporate rate to 15% and eliminate loopholes only the rich can take advantage of. If we had way lower taxes and less regulation that huge pay gap between here and Mexico would mean less and there would be no need for deals like this

There is nothing different in Trump's handling of this as we've seen in his campaign for president or his business and reality show activities.

People need to speak out when Trump strays. It doesn't mean that we don't support him. It just means that we aren't blindly cheering everything he does.

Only if the company meets certain employment and infrastructure spending benchmarks over the next 10 years.
