The stock market is a Ponzi scheme to transfer wealth from working people to the financial class that don’t work

If the markets react badly they'll turn on Trump with the quickness.

The combination of higher prices and their retirement accounts crashing are going to be tough things for people to accept.

Even if it's short term, Trump has done a shitty job of communicating this rationally and giving a set plan. He just dropped what is a pretty insane policy today. The tariff rates are pretty outside of any normative expectations.

Probably the only thing I took away Econ 101 was that panicking over Stock Index fluctuations were futile. It's just a momentary snap shot in time. The Nervous Nellie's usually are the ones that get hosed.

I'm trying to cash out one right now, watching it slide.

I’m sure the Boomers who didn’t get out of the stock market despite it increasing a million percent by the time they were 70 will be totally reasonable in their reaction, knowing that in the long run they have a bit less money but it will be better for the younger generations.

Right, Roger?

Like from 2021-2024 when we were told the economy was amazing?

No

That was due to intervention and borrowing by Trump and Biden

Why would you ever argue for more intervention, after what we saw 2021-2024?

I'd love a world with no tariffs.

But I'm an adult.

That's why I hope he gets Vance, Lutnik and Navarro out on all the shows explaining things as they are far better communicators of details than Trump.

Trump's hyperbole appeals to a certain crowd. I'd rather have some real numbers and facts.

Lest I remind everyone, Trump himself said the first year of his term was going to be painful.

I choose to hold my breath and wait patiently.

I don’t think the government should send out a bunch of checks for nothing again. They should have paired it with economic activity.

It’s even funnier because not one single country has bent the knee to this clown

India, Vietnam and Israel so far and Ontario's PM is claiming they will drop tariffs.
