Perhaps.

Indeed.
Of course, the fact of actual difference would affect nothing of an emulation fantasy.
So he's just doing a bad job.

He has basically taken over Hitchens' following post-mortem. Nobody cares about Dawkins, anymore. Everyone sorta forgets about the Santa Clause-esque Dennett.

I don't know Sam Harris but I also can't find any innacuracies in his description of Orange Glow

Hitchens would almost certainly disagree with that. They are very different in several ways.
Yeah, Harris was one of the 4 Horsemen with him as well and they were good friends. Hitchens' tongue and pen was a sword, while Harris is more subtle than Hitchens ever was. Harris I think tries to debate rationally with his opponents, while Hitchens didn't want to reason with his opponents but destroy them entirely. If anything, I find Ben Shapiro's debating tactics to be more similar to Hitchens' than Harris'.

He couldn't last ten mins in a debate with Trump.
I literally . That's a good one. Seeing Harris and Trump debate would be just comical. The only person alive who I think could take Harris in a debate is Ben Shapiro and possibly Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
He's what Joe Rogan has said to be an intellectual black belt. Congrats on proving you're an intellectual white belt.

You are. Harris has specifically stated he's no hitchens, that he lacks the aggressive style and razor sharp use of the English language in open debates. His style is more sober, even keel reason, which is for some folks, boring.

He really can't talk about the Trump presidency rationally. He claims to be a man of reason, but he determines the legitimacy or soundness of a policy by looking at Trump's character rather than looking at the policy itself.
He recently stated he agreed with trump's Poland speech, exhortation that the west stand up for its values.

Or Reza Azlan or any number of Islamic obscurantists.

Yeah, their debating styles are totally different, and the debates I've seen them engage in, Hitchens beat him. Shapiro is the one who uses Hitchens' debating tactics, not Harris.

It tells me the specific words I posted.

You judge the response to be genuine. I believe Sam thinks a bit too much of himself for that to be entirely the case. But as neither of us can crawl inside the man's head, we'll have to agree to disagree.

That's refreshing. Because he has been unbearable since January.

What this tells me is you have no idea what you're talking about. He made the statement in response to people wanting him to verbally destroy people in the same fashion as Hitchens. That's the context - he said, can't do that, not me.
The only reason he and Hitchens are rightfully compared is because of their positions on religion. But Harris' style has never been anything like Hitchens - it's a silly comparison and accusation, but you've made a habit of entering threads regarding Harris to disparage him, so this angle from you is wholly unsurprising.

Asking Sam Harris to comment without bias on Trump is like asking a butcher to explain the benefits of becoming a vegetarian or a Realtor to explain why FSBO is better. Not gonna happen. Dude can't see clearly when it comes to Trump. He doesn't understand why he was elected and he doesn't understand his appeal.
Sam Harris gave the most insightful and accurate summary of why Hillary lost that I've heard since the election.
LINK
Summary: Trump won because a huge portion of everyday Americans were tired of the identity politics that blindly labeled them racists and sexists, and because Hillary refused to address the issues of terrorism and immigration.

When will Harris have Milo on his podcast?

Why that's something Sam Harris would never attempt.
It simply isn't his style.
Amirite?
Oooops . . . nope . . . it seems not.
Truth is, it wasn't Hitchens style, unless the person he was conversing with brought it on.

I don't think he will...at least not anytime soon.

our pretension to greatness,
Maybe Trump should travel all over the world and tell everyone that we aren't a great country and apologize to them for our arrogance like Obama did?
No other country is as generous to others like America and millions would give their right arm to live here.
So f Sam Harris and everyone else who thinks America has arrogance. We have reasons to be arrogant.
