Sam Harris’ Epiphany: The Appeal of Donald Trump

Sam Harris, despite earlier this week positively comparing Adolf Hitler and Osama Bin Laden to Trump, has had a true epiphany on Trump’s appeal. Really, he did. This is worth 8 minutes of your time and now he gets it, even if I was sickened by his comments earlier this week. It’s all fallen into line for Harris to where he not only realizes why Trump will win but why he deserves to win. He admits he was an a-hole to Trump supporters and apologizes for it due to this epiphany.

I think it was on Saturday he said that, and everyone in the IDW gave him absolute hell for positively comparing Hitler and Bin Laden to Trump. I think they got through to him and he acknowledges he was a delusional a-hole for saying something like that.

I’ll commend someone who almost immediately admits they were being an a-hole and that they were in the wrong. Even if his overall opinion of Trump has not changed, it’s clear in this that his opinion on his voters has drastically changed and he doesn’t remotely blame them for their vote for Trump. It makes perfect sense to him now.

Keep going. That’s the moment he starts going after the Left and admitting to himself “yes his supporters are in the right to think this.” The first 5 minutes are more focused on why he was an a-hole to Trump supporters, and until this week I think he was one of the lesser offenders on being an a-hole to Trump supporters over the rest of the Left. I think the rest of the IDW got through to him though and it finally clicked why people would vote for Trump other than safe spaces and trigger warnings.

So has he changed his stance on comparing Trump to Hitler? If not, then I couldn’t care less what he has to say.
