While there have only been a handful of times Russian gets have been in/near Finnish airspace, there have been numerous violations into Poland by Russian planes, drones along with three missiles having hit in Poland.
Their concern isn't surprising, what's surprising that the Baltics and Romania aren't scrambling as well as they've seen more incursions than has Finland.

Finland is nowhere near Ukraine. That's in part why I'm asking. Poland shares a border with Ukraine to the West, but Finland is due north, on the Russian border. Even if Belarus allows Russian planes open passage, what's Poland have to do with anything. All the targets for the Russian AF should be to the Eastern side of Ukraine.

Some of the incidents are undoubtedly due to human error, but there are so many in some areas that it leads me to believe there's at least some desire within the Russian military hierarchy which thinks it's a good idea to test from time to time the borders of nations currently not engaged in the war.
