re: Rush: Robin Williams killed himself because of a ‘political leftist’ attitude

So, how in the world can Zach contend that MediaMatters took Rush's words "out of context"?
Because it is an excerpt from a very long segment. I heard it. You didn't. MM didn't post the entire segment. This is what 'OUT OF CONTEXT MEANS.'
And if you were so sure that MM got it right why didn't you listen to the first two hours of Rush today where he PROVED MM was wrong? Hmmm? If he was lying then you could critique him from today. But you have NO clue. You are speaking from a position of absolute ignorance of the facts. I'm speaking as a first hand witness to both days of real content.
You are looking like a total fool to keep clinging to Media Matters when everyone here knows they are bogus.

Do you think he ever made fun of Leftist Pols?
I'm old enough to remember people like Bob Hope who did make good natured jokes about all Pols.
This is not what Williams did.
That was his right. Fine by me. But to imply he wasn't political is not correct.

Or how about they are Americans just like you and I and are allowed to express whatever political opinion they damn well please.
How about you not taking my statement out of the context of the thread?
Thread context: He has a leftist attitude
My take: Meh, he's not really that far left
Your comment: HE HAS A RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH
I know this is really difficult for you, but try to at least make your comments relevant to the discussion at hand.

Well then I'm sure you have no problem when people on the Right go after the Kenyan born, Muslim interloper.

I read both transcripts from the 2 shows. He wasn't taken out of context. His implication yesterday was that RW's left leaning ideology contributed to his taking his own life. Sure, most of his diatribe was his usual rant against the "leftist media", but he interjected his own views on RW as well. This isn't the first time, nor will it be the last, Rush says something completely stupid and/or insensitive then complains about being taken out of context.

Not sure who you're talking about, but I'm all for making fun of any and every politician. Just be funny when you do so is all I ask.

Thanks for identifying yourself as a liar.
Edit.. But I'll give you a chance to redeem yourself. Give us a link to today's transcript THAT YOU READ.

you said it in the "he's not as bad as x, y or z." in the sense that it's not as much about what they believe as it is how expressive they are about it. The constant bellyaching from the right over what actors say is absurd.
oh and the whole "Democrats were more centrist in 2000" comment made me lol irl. Democrats have been moving further and further right for 3 decades at this point.

Your link says 100% that MM was out of context. Thank you for supporting my position and destroying your own.
Now why don't you actually go back and read your Rush link and tell us where it shows he is not out of context. Just highlight the evidence from your link. We can then compare it to the whole transcript and see the context.

there's a difference between expressing your opinion and saying the kind of things rush says in the OP

stop it. My abs are sore!
I guess you can't see it from so far to the right but it's true. They have become more and more towards corporatism and farther and farther away from the working class.

The context of the thread was positioning him as some sort of outspoken political commentator. He wasn't. He was a comedian.

Not my point at all. Williams expressed through his art. Damon, Streisand, Fonda went out of their way to make public statements. Not even close to the same thing.

Of course it does - because you're blind.

Unless you are posting from a time machine in 1999, you cannot possibly believe this.
