Notice that the article does nothing more than quote Rush's own words out of context with the implication he was discussing Williams rather than the media.

Was Robin Williams even political? I really didn't see him as one way or another. The attitudes expressed in his stand up routine after 9/11 were definately politically incorrect....

Your post had nothing whatsoever to do with this particular instance. Nothing. Obviously you thought it did though.

He was very liberal, but he also made many USO trips overseas to entertain the troops.

Like most in Hollywood, he was pretty liberal. But you never got the sense that he was mean-spirited about it. It's like he didn't take any of it very seriously.

i love this qualifier, like if you're liberal that means you hate the troops It's not the concept of our foreign policy we had a problem with, it's the troops themselves

I swear I don't ever remember him being on a soapbox, but okay.

I mean there's a huge difference between say, Matt Damon / Barbara Streisand / Jane Fonda who openly express / promote political views, and Robin Williams who performed at a democratic fundraiser back in 2000 when democrats were far more centered.

I skew pretty far to the left in comparison the the center of gravity on this board, I understand where you're coming from. I admittedly didn't phrase it well.

ETA: Greg Gutfeld had an unexpectedly (for me) decent take on Williams' death. I don't have time to find and link it, but the video is out there.

Well the Left finally realized how badly with the American Public, their treatment of the Viet Nam Vet went so they had an image make over.

Except for Dick Durbin, Harry Reid, Teddy Kennedy, and a few other Dem officials, that is.

And to this day, there are many, many campuses that don't allow ROTC, or recruitment offices.

Robin Williams was none too kind to either Ron or Nancy Reagan, in fact he was pretty vicious.

And a friend told me yesterday that she saw his act in DC about five years ago, and he was still tearing into W.

So yes, he was pretty political.

Politicians of any stripe are fair game, IYAM. As are their spouses, if they get involved in the fray. Minor children should be off limits, and adult children if they're living their own lives outside the spotlight.

No it didn't.
In this instance your interpretation of RL's statement makes no sense. In fact, asserting Robin Williams killed himself because of a ‘political leftist’ attitude makes no sense.

Or how about they are Americans just like you and I and are allowed to express whatever political opinion they damn well please.

shite, I'm agreeing with Rockford now?

Politicians and spouses make up like 90% of comedy material for crying out loud.

Probably because even when Rush is right, he's a dick about it. Other people are equally critical od democrats. They just don't act like dicks all the time.
