Its a fact that marketing of television is about counting viewers.
Fearmongering is an element of marketing and its cousin propaganda.
Rush just did not say it elegantly as i might have.
The bush govt and its multicolored warning system for terror attacks is the most famous instance.
Of course media uses fear to gain viewership.
My own expression for weather channels is weather ghouls. Interviewing tearful survivors.
Showing devastation from previous similar events.
Rush was right.

I very rarely get a chance to listen to Limbaugh's show. When I do, it's sometimes very good and other times I think, this dude is way off. Sometimes he seems like he is just trying to fill time.
Anyway, I did actually listen to about 3 minutes of this show when he was talking about the coverage of hurricanes. His general point of exaggerations being made might be a little true, but he was overstating it to the extreme, and he rambled into a general criticism of the meteorologists, as if we aren't lucky to have these weather forecasts. He gave no acknowledgement to the fact that the forecasts are very advanced modeling and are pretty accurate - enough for it to save countless lives.
I gave my first ever upvote to Tangi.

Another effort by the "anti fascist" to silence free speech. How many times has Rush been targeted by the leftist? Too many to count, I'd say. If his sponsors cancel, he brings new companies on board and the flourish like the last.

I listened to that segment. He predicted libtards would take everything he said out of context in exactly the manner in which you did. Congratulations on being a tool and a pawn.

He's right about MSM pushing hurricanes as related to the politics of Climate Change. Anybody that hasn't bought into the whole political dynamic can easily see that. That weather guy Joe Bastardi was run off from TWC because he told the truth; and he nailed this season and the storms. Hannity has him on regularly.
Notwithstanding TWC still dramatizes for the sake of viewer ratings; they ARE a business. But so is the NFL.
That said, on occasion there are super storms...and this is one of em'. The real issue becomes to what degree the US Treasury now will support rebuilding in areas that have become economic high-risk. It's going to wreck all those idyllic retirement homes on the W. Fla. coast.

If you actually gave a frick, you'd listen and educate yourself. He said all events are ramped up, BECAUSE if you under report and it's worse, you'll be in trouble.
