No it wasn't. Pretty everyone's model is an SIR, which is the standard model for most epidemiology; it's been around since the 1920s. The only thing different from Fauci's model or Ferguson's model or the ones used for Ebola are the assumptions you plug in.

hell it happens to all of us if we are around long enough and go to TD functions

What makes you think she used the Imperial model?

It's the same model. Everyone has pretty much the same variables interacting in the same ways to produce forecast. The difference is the values you put in as assumptions. The truth is making good assumptions is tough because this is new. Since there is no history, people have leveraged assumptions from similar diseases and as we've learned more, we updated our assumptions.
Regardless, everyone's model has shown that a disease that doubles every few days does not need to have a high hospitalization rate or high mortality rate to sicken and kill a lot of people very quickly.
So I'll ask, and I'm asking sincerely, how does this not kill over 100K people if cases keep doubling every 3 days?

What does it matter if it kills 100000? We're committing economic suicide for what? Consider it the price of doing business. Not a soul ran through the streets screaming doom and gloom when the flu killed 50000 people. Where was the over the top hysteria from the New York media then?

I suppose depending on what x is, different people might come out on different sides on the question of "is it worth it to shut down the economy over x dead people?" But remember you only limit it to 100K if you shut down much of the economy. If you don't the number is much higher. That's the rub, it is not clear what the limiting factor on bodies is absent drastic mitigation efforts.

Was that when she said the Imperial study had revised its fatality prediction for U.K. to 20,000?
