Running gun battle on Bluebonnet yesterday afternoon, and crickets?

My wife was out running errands yesterday afternoon and nearly got caught in a running gun battle between the two occupants of two vehicles on Bluebonnet In broad daylight. Luckily, nobody was injured but some windows were shot out. One of the local news station posted a brief story without much facts on Facebook. But there was nothing on the news last night, or in the Advocate this morning. Was this because we’ve really grown that accustomed to the violence that a running gun battle in the afternoon on a major thoroughfare is not news, or could it be that the Advocate had just run an article the day before about the two billboards about the BR crime rate and warning people that they enter at their own risk put up by the police unions, the mayor and police chief not approving of the union doing this, and the Advocate having an opinion piece on the
editorial page also not approving of this move. Certainly this running gun battle in broad daylight would leave some folks with egg on their face.

The loophole may be that the area in question is St George. Borders are fricky out there.

They just need more gun control programs.....to be more accurate in their shooting. Would more efficiently eliminate these thugs from decent society.

Probably Just the DEM senatorial candidate Shreveport mayor eluding his 5th DUI stop. Nothing to see.

Real news can't be reported in BR. Remember Kiran? After that, all hope was lost.

That's crazy, was it road rage? When and where on Bluebonnet did this occur?
Posted on 7/24/20 at 11:45 am to Friar Tuck
But the police union put up a billboard that said BR was dangerous.

Bringing this up is bad form. I have already apologized on behalf of all racist white Americans who live in this racist white part of town for this completely understandable failure of conflict resolution caused by systemic racism. We have much to learn from the shooter(s).That they started this conversation allows all racist whites to grapple with the racist implications of their silence.

It was early afternoon yesterday. I would guess it was road rage, but not sure, that why we were watching for more information.

Since you mentioned Covid, this morning it said there 301 deaths related to Covid in EBR Parish. That figure is probably inflated by a factor of two, because there have been numerous cases where a person died from various other causes, but tested positive for Covid so they chalked it as Covid related. So if you figure half of those were truly caused by Covid, which I believe is a reasonable estimate, and compare it to the homicide rate that is tracking on pace for 90-100 this year, if you live in EBR Parish, you are almost as likely to be murdered as die of Covid but we aren’t talking about that?
