In theory they bolster the account

My guess is that Roy isn't a pedo, he's an awkward weirdo who found it easier to try and build meaningful relationships with small town teenage girls

but I'm not sure that'll help if they're true

This will get him more votes in Alabama. If it was his cousin he would win in a landslide.

So, takes her 38 years to tell the media only after he's elected governor? Seems legit.

Exactly. As tied up in state politics as he's been for decades, there is no way in hell this story would have not come out long ago.

Roy Moore was in the public eye in Alabama for at least he last 20 years if not longer.....if this person had wanted to make sure Moore paid a price, why not do it when he was doing all of his stuff on the state Supreme Court? Why wait 4 decades?

He was a powerful judge during that time.

Now he has no power.

Some possible mitigating factors:

Wapo is Democratic opps.
Alabama
Statute of limitations.
"between" the ages of 16 and 18
"None of the other women say that Moore forced them into any sort of relationship or sexual contact".
Nobody gives a crap.
He done made hisself rite with Jesus.

The fact that some of you are completely dismissing this when you all no good and damn well that it fits him perfectly is just insane.

He was an elected official who had to win elections every so many years. If this were true, and common knowledge among these girl's friends, then someone would have found out during one of the numerious statewide elections he ran in.

It may or may not be true, but we all know what happened to the trump accusers. They went silent after he won.

Roy Moore is a weird fricker and it would not surprise me if this is true...

It would also not surprise me if this were not true and it was a Dem attempt to sway the election...

However, if it is not true, I would find it more believable that this was orchestrated by someone in the swamp in an attempt to get the Dem elected, so their chosen one would have a more clear shot in the next election cycle...

Funny how this never comes out in 38 years with Moore in the public eye all this time, yet now it comes out with Dems desperate for a win and needing to solidify their narrative of a "repudiation" of Trump.

Complete bullshite

I think this is the only reasonable position right now.

I don't know what's true or false with any of these situations. The Hollywood stuff I could see how it took a long time because people are worried about their careers. With Moore? It seems like it should have come out before but I can't possibly imagine what people who have undergone stuff like that try to justify or bury down and ignore. I say let the truth come out. If moores accusers are lying then sue for defamation. If Moore is lying then by no means do I want him running our country.

Funny how everyone looks over the staleness of claims when it benefits them to do so, and emphasizes it when it doesn't

So this is the Dems new strategy

Actually, it's their old tried and true strategy. It's one that Obama used to start his political career. Lying is what they do...spread a rumor close to an election, or close enough to throw the opposition off and let the doubts begin. Harry Reid lied about Romney's taxes. When asked about it, he smiled and said "He didn't win, did he?" Slime is slime is slime.

She says that her teenage life became increasingly reckless with drinking, drugs, boyfriends, and a suicide attempt when she was 16.

As the years went on, Corfman says, she did not share her story about Moore partly because of the trouble in her life. She has had three divorces and financial problems. While living in Arizona, she and her second husband started a screen-printing business that fell into debt. They filed for bankruptcy protection three times, once in 1991 with $139,689 in unpaid claims brought by the Internal Revenue Service and other creditors, according to court records.

In 2005, Corfman paid a fine for driving a boat without lights. In 2010, she was working at a convenience store when she was charged with a misdemeanor for selling beer to a minor. The charge was dismissed, court records show.

I wonder what the chances are she sold her story to try and get out of debt. That doesn't make her story untrue, but it sure as hell lessens the veracity of her statement to your average voter.

To be fair in this situation, we hear cries of sexual allegations against politicians all the time.
Hollywood has been so smug and so pious, they had it coming. They deserve the ridicule. Especially when so many knew behind the scenes. Bunch of hypocrites

You could extend this logic to anyone in a high place. "Weinstein was competing for Oscars with many other Hollywood execs so why are dimes dropping now?!"
