The Fox Poll is a last ditch effort by the establishment to keep the Moore vote at home.

This is one of the stupidest things I have read on here and that is saying a lot. Why on earth would polls showing a close race keep Moore voters at home? Not everything is a fricking conspiracy...

Yes, without the baggage of Moore. Unfortunately, during the initial primary, he was torpedoed by McConnell et. al in order to clear a space for Strange.

If these women were so "upset" about Moore's actions, they would have come forward 38 years ago.
Facts get clouded with each passing year. That is why there is a statute of limitations on most crimes. I disregard ALL accusations claimed in politics, if the accusations are made during the campaign. If the accusers have solid evidence, then I will listen. I disregard ALL he said/she said unless he admits guilt.
The yearbook lady lies. The 14 year old appears to have lied. The rest claim is was consensual; therefore, there are no crimes.
Everyone is INNOCENT until proven guilty, ESPECIALLY in politics.
Vote on the issues. Let the Congressional Ethics department or the US legal system determine guilt. Present the facts before a court of law. I will go with the court decision. I will NOT go with the word of any accuser unless the other side admits guilt.

Why do you people keep acting like the accusers are what make people detest Moore.

Most of his detractors have disliked him for years based on his record of being a complete attention-whoring clown.

But you guys act like the only reason someone would vote AGAINST Moore is because of some creepy behavior when he was in his 30s.

Moore has a ton of momentum heading into the election. The last couple of weeks have energized his voting base. Are you not paying attention at all?

Anything at all that upsets the status quo is a good thing for Jones given the reality of what's going on. A poll that shows Jones up gives hope to his base...and offers something for Jones to point to.

The most effective, albeit short-lived, tactic Jones had was a campaign of "Republicans for Jones". It wasn't real. And, people figured it out. But for a little while, with all of the other noise, it created a narrative that many who would have otherwise voted for Moore would not.

A poll showing Jones winning is meant to give those holding their nose something to think about.

In other words, you really don't know what you are talking about.

So which one of you was buying up those Roy Moore Y @ .79? Nice 1 to 5 odds you got there.

That contract will get a lot of fun tomorrow night, FWIW.

It’s probably directly tied to the Fox poll showing a Jones win by 10 points.

I still think Moore will win, but the market reaction to that poll may be warranted Until today, I wasn't aware just how big the difference between live interview and automated polls was in this race. The Fox poll was one of the few live polls conducted for this race.

Automated polls can't call cellphones, and polls are showing Jones up by 30% amongst voters interviewed by cell phone. Plus live polls are typically better about gauging which voters are likely to actually vote.

My gut tells me it's unlikely Jones will get the turnout he needs to win, but I feel better about his chances now than I have at any point during this race.

When one person in the race is accused of molestation, I think live caller polls may actually be LESS accurate, because of the low response rate by republicans who do not want to admit they are voting for him to a live person.

Definitely a possibility, but the 30% lead amongst people interviewed over a cellphone strikes me as the bigger factor. Again, I think that result is likely just a statistical anomaly, but if it really is reflective of Jones's actual lead amongst voters who use a cellphone as their primary phone, then I think Jones would win.

To be fair, many of the polls that have moore ahead are both automated landline calls AND an online component.

Isn't it at least somewhat reasonable to assume someone who owns a cell phone also owns a computer?

Who knows, to be honest. The polling industry is lost right now, dude. They have zero clue how to weight these races.

Polling in Europe is soooo much more accurate. As you know, france has an exit poll that nearly always nails the actual margin.

They didnt unseat Vitter after his hooker scandal. They aren’t unseating Franken and are allowing him to resign on his own timeline. They aren’t going to deny Moore a seat, especially with the news this week that his main accuser forged at least part of the infamous yearbook signature.

Live polls with an actual person are going to cause more "embarrassed" Moore voters to be not give honest answers.

In a race as bizarre and outlandish as this it's clear Moore's supporters are way less likely to be vocal about it.

Dude. At least be intelligent here

He lost by half a point.

Three difference was the accusations.

Sheesh. We can't even have a discussion when people aren't capable of honesty
