I've been saying for weeks now that it is imperative for the Dems to change the narrative on this sexual abuse story. They CANNOT allow themselves to be branded as sex offenders because their narrative is that Repubs are the ones who are misogynists, not them.

I don't know if Moore is guilty or not, but I've been waiting for a story like this so the MSM can get the Dems off the front page. Color me skeptical.

quote:

Washington (CNN)Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore says the allegations of sexual misconduct against him are "completely false."

"These allegations are completely false and misleading," Moore told Sean Hannity on the talk show host's syndicated radio show, "The Sean Hannity Show," on Friday afternoon.

An explosive Washington Post report Thursday based on interviews with more than 30 people detailed allegations that the Republican Senate candidate from Alabama pursued sexual relationships with several women when they were between 14 and 18 years old and he was in his 30s, including alleged sexual contact with the 14-year-old.
"Nobody that abuses a 14-year-old at age 32 or at age 17, it doesn't matter, if you abuse a 14-year-old you shouldn't be a Senate candidate," Moore told Hannity. "I agree with that. But I did not do that."

Moore denied knowing Leigh Corfman, who alleged she had a sexual encounter with Moore when she was 14 years old, according to The Washington Post.

"Allegations of sexual misconduct with her (Corfman) are completely false." Moore said. "I believe they are politically motivated. I believe they are brought only to stop a very successful campaign, and that's what they're doing."

Moore backer and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon compared the allegations against the Republican Senate candidate to the infamous "Access Hollywood" tape that was released during the 2016 election.

"The Bezos Amazon Washington Post that dropped that dime on Donald Trump is the same Bezos Amazon Washington Post that dropped the dime this afternoon on Judge Roy Moore," Bannon said Thursday at a dinner of conservative activists in Manchester, New Hampshire, referring to Washington Post owner and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. "Now is that a coincidence? That's what I mean when I say opposition party, right?"

In a written statement issued Friday, Moore further responded to the allegations in the Post's story: "I have never provided alcohol to minors, and I have never engaged in sexual misconduct. As a father of a daughter and a grandfather of five granddaughters, I condemn the actions of any man who engages in sexual misconduct not just against minors, but against any woman.

except it was on tape and Trump admitted it? Not sure that was the route Bannon should have gone if he wanted to cast doubt on the veracity of the claims against Moore.

Maybe so, but I’m not sure that was the best example to use.

Bannon's best response is to ask if it's a coincidence that newspaper consistently reports news. He's fricking losing it, even by his low standards.

Also, Moore is only saying that the allegations regarding the 14 year old are false. He has admitted to dating minors as a middle aged man. Even if it was legal, everyone defending him has accept the fact that they are defending the idea of middle aged attorneys trying to pick up on high school girls. It's sad that this is what the right has come to.

This is the 3rd time i've asked this in 3 different threads.

Where is the link to Moore supposedly admitting to dating teenagers when he was in his 30's?

It will really be interesting and definitive to see if Republicans act as they did with Trump and Moore wins. Personal assault has long been the Dems go to strategy when policy arguments are without merit or power, and it could well be that Republicans rally to Moore in order to make a statement. There will be a number of R's who bail on Moore...but the loss therein could be made up by a strong Rally vote.

Personally, I sense that Moore is not all straight up; in today's political arena, Candidates should think twice before assuming the mantle/expectations/hope of their Constituency. I.e., if you have old dirt...don't ask to carry the flag, but just get in line with the infantry.

You’ll never see one because he never said anything remotely close to that. All of this is just more lies by the filthy left, they have zero morals

Why can't we all agree that BOTH parties have perverts that commit sexual assault on women and teenagers? This knows no party lines.

Oh yes, absofreakinglutely. I'm just not sure about this Roy Moore story. It seems suspect to me. But as to your point, no doubt about it. And that's one reason I hate both parties ALMOST equally. I hate the Dems a little more, but both groups are loathsome.
