That was a hell of a speech. The fact he could put multiple coherent sentences together was something we haven’t heard in years.

All he had to do was read the book... Art of the Deal to figure how to make it happen... oh wait ... he wrote that book.

It's awesome, but it's kind of cringe if you don't know where it comes from. Which I doubt many do.

It was a decent speech but he's not a great speaker. Obama was great and Trump is Trump. Ron is not on par with them. Didn't say Ron was bad but he reminded me of how average Mit Romney was when he ran.

Over 5.5 million people in both 2016 and 2020 voted for at least 1 down-ballot Republican but not Trump. The majority of them are suburbanites. They are Republican-leaning voters who hate Trump but voted for Republicans all the way down the ballot that they couldn't ID out of a lineup if their lives depended on it. They are never voting for Trump, but will vote for or genuinely be open to voting for any other breathing human with a "R" next to their name.

That volume of ticket-splitting has not occurred for a Republican since 1996, and that was because Dole had to contend with a spoiler in Ross Perot. Perot voters voted Republican down the rest of their ballots. That's how polarizing Trump is to these voters. DeSantis won't scare them away, and if he's the nominee, there will be nowhere near the volume of ticket-splitting there was in 2016 and 2020.
