Governor of what state?

If we have to have Landry somewhere in an elected position, Congress is probably the best place for him.
He can throw bombs all day long - which is what he lives to do - easily there. And a Good Cop / Bad Cop routine between Kennedy and Landry as our senators would be HILARIOUS to watch.
One hundred percent accurate.
I hope Cassidy runs for Governor, reduces income taxes, appoints some non insane people to run the DOTD and Landry just goes on Hannity and yells at people. As much as I cannot abide cassidy, I begrudgingly voted for him twice, and so if he ends up as Governor- it’s better than having a Democrat there.
frick it. Landry can’t do any harm in the Senate, and he’ll definitely vote the right way on federal laws. He would be Senator Marjorie Taylor Greene.
I hope Cassidy and JBE’s little stupid pact works, it baits Landry into running against JBE for Senator and Cassidy loses the primary in humiliating fashion to whatever other Republican who runs. i would Volunteer as tribute if that were the case.
The only Republican who wouldn’t vote for me is Sentrius.

can Landry peel away 40% of Cassidy supporters? Personally, I don't think he can.
We will agree to disagree then.
I know quite a few people that voted for both JBE and Cassidy.
They are quite adamant that they won’t be fooled again. These people are from Jefferson, Ascension, and (sadly)...St. Tammany.
JBE fooled quite a few people. However, he has looked the fool in comparison to DeSantis in Florida. This is a North Korea / South Korea (at night) type of comparison. As such, vast majority of these “temporary morons” won’t be voting Dem...period.
Just my .02.

Wouldn't you be better served giving the "Sofia Vergara response"?
On one of the "celebrities read mean tweets" skits, she read a tweet that said she looked like she had a dick in her mouth.
Her response, "What's wrong with having a dick in my mouth?!"

If Sentrius lived here, he would vote for Jay Inslee. That's the type of "Republican" he is.

It will be one and the same.
Cassidy is a Dem with an (R) by his name.

Cassidy was literally a Democrat until 2004. He hasn't changed. He's a Republican the same way King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg was a Republican.

This is a situation where I will be glad to be wrong, because if I'm wrong, it means people have learned their lesson and we will end up with a conservative in the governors mansion.
I am just currently very pessimistic based on what I am seeing and hearing. Maybe I'm not getting a good cross section of what's out there, though.

You’re probably right. I’m not usually so sensitive. I don’t know why that remark got my panties in a snit, so now I’m over it thanks. :)
Plus I don’t even mind Sentrius all that much and we usually agree. I just do not feel the need to support any Republican candidate, even when that candidate is awful. Whereas he thinks that any Democrat is going to end in disaster. So there’s no reason to ever vote for one. I’m cool with that. I just will never see that his way.
Sentrius probably just needs to find a cocksucker. It may help his mood. I bet his boy David Vitter could introduce him to one. I do not volunteer as tribute.

Perhaps I am in a bubble. That being said, I am quite familiar” with all three places that I mentioned and know quite a few people that voted for JBE. I have yet to hear any of them do anything but crawfish when I bring it up, and I bring it up regularly.
Could they just be placating a cranky old man, sure. But I don’t get that vibe. There seems to be real buyers remorse. Lastly, and I can’t hit this hard enough, almost to a person they have compared JBE to DeSantis...and have a “smell shite” face when just mentioning JBE.
The regret seems real.

I hope Cassidy runs. He will lose and it will be glorious.

You should listen to the Podcast of Todd Herman's final show (December 1st). In it, he describes in great detail how he and others at KTTH had to shame the Washington State Republican party to disown Dan Satterberg, who has always been a left-wing nutjob, but was a Republican until 2018.
I only knew him as "Heroin Dan" Satterberg because he wouldn't prosecute drug crimes in King County from when I first moved here in 2013. I had no idea he was a REPUBLICAN.
Sentrius is the type that feels that any conservative not supporting people with R's by their name is committing heresy...unless of course that person goes against the establishment. Then it's BLASPHEMY.

He's much more to the right than he is the left. A single meaningless vote against Trump doesn't change that.

If you are standing on the 50 yard line and the field shifts so you are now standing on your own 30, you didn't change. He's still the same piece of shite he was 18 years ago.
Also, he voted on the Infrastructure Fraud package that will only line the pockets of his cronies instead of doing any actual infrastructure work.

I disagree (totally) with both facets concerning this part of your post.

I hope that idiot runs for Governor so we can get him out of the senate earlier than 6 years and watch him get smoked in the governors race. That weirdo doesn’t need to be anywhere near politics

And you entertain this after rationalizing your vote for liberal democrat JBE?
Hey, here’s a simple idea: Stop voting for democrats and clear as daylight RINOs that’s friendly with JBE.
It’s that simple.
Also, Cassidy is a loser in Louisiana politics and the Trumpers will go after him hard and they are likely to be successful. It’s just a question of when and how, not if. And it’s why he has no business running for another term or any other office.
You just absolutely cannot damage the good standing of your party and expect to have staying power.

frick any “pact” that brings success to Cassidy and JBE. The only thing they deserve is a crushing and resounding defeat.
Why is this so hard to understand?

If Cassidy runs for Governor and he loses, he would still be Senator until January 2027.
Cassidy only has to resign from the senate if he somehow wins the Governor’s mansion.

This thread makes it clear who has no idea how Louisiana politics work, including the fact that governor elections are not the same calendar as federal, and you don't have to resign to run.
