The Republican National Committee is withdrawing its support for besieged Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, leaving him increasingly isolated as he confronts charges of sexual misconduct with teenagers.

The RNC is pulling out of a joint fundraising agreement it had with Moore, according to a senior party official briefed on the decision. It is also canceling a field program it had set up ahead of the state’s Dec. 12 special election. The committee had about a dozen paid canvassers in Alabama working for Moore. It will no longer transfer any money to the race.

He's getting more free press out of this than the RNC could afford, anyway.

A republican doesn’t need the RNC to win an election

Maybe it was the State GOP that pulled funding last week.

ETA: It's in your linked article

On Friday, one day after the accusations surfaced, the NRSC withdrew from its joint fundraising agreement with Moore.

well i do understand the anger b/c this is a pure hatchet job regardless of the truth of the allegations (and i do believe them)

the timing was meant to allow the DEMs to steal a Senate seat. if you can't admit that, you're not being intellectually honest

if you don't want to be honest, then buckle up because politics is about to get 100x sleazier and more terrible, b/c unfounded allegations about shite from 30 years ago that can't be defended are now in play for EVERYONE, and if you don't support forfeiting that election, then you support [insert terrible behavior alleged]

That isn't the scary part. What should scare people is the fact that DC is taking over state elections.

Senators are trying to determine the outcome of an election in Alabama.

What's funny is

He's going to win

They'll refuse to seat him

Seat will stay Republican

Liberals will melt

I WANT THAT TO HAPPEN SO MUCH

literally, could the GOP come out looking any better? almost universal criticism of Moore, cutting off his funding, and then when he still wins, they remove him..only to set up a Republican replacement (likely the actual candidate that Trump supported)

that is the perfect plan for some real melt, b/c that would essentially cut off the head of this whole thing

Rnc should have cut off Moore because he's a piece of shite who ignores the Constitution when it's convenient- not because of the hatchet job.
