Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn is threatening to vote down the ambassadorial nominations of two top Trump allies on Wednesday unless the Trump administration releases money aimed at fighting the spread of AIDS in Africa.

Cornyn told Semafor that he would not support committee action on Kari Lake’s nomination to be ambassador to Jamaica or Doug Mastriano’s bid to become ambassador to Slovakia without confirmation that the administration will distribute money from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, commonly known as PEPFAR.

I wish there was a way we could limit the voting power of incumbents who are voted out. They try to hold people hostage unless they get their way.

There must be a total overhaul to Republican Party selection of candidates moving forward. This is why it hasn't mattered in the past when Republicans have controlled government, because the ranks are filled with frauds, phonies, and opportunists with no convictions or loyalty to their constituents. And once they get elected, we blindly let them remain in power until they die or decide they have grifted long enough and can retire comfortably on the profits they've made through their political career. We need to evaluate our candidates EVERY election and start primarying tf out of anyone who reneges on their campaign rhetoric or fails to deliver on policy support.

No more being comfortable with no accountability. We don't have the luxury of wasting time with worthless representatives anymore.

The Africans won't starve. BTW how much money has the USA given to feed the poor?

Wouldn't it have been much nicer to teach them to fish instead of giving them the fish? Plant the crops?

Did UNICEF money ever go to the poor children? Why has no one opened up easy verified good homes, for adoptions?

The U.S. is helping address urgent food needs in Africa. @USDAForeignAg announced an agreement in principle with @CatholicRelief to provide up to $235 million in emergency food and nutrition assistance to millions facing extreme hunger and malnutrition in Sudan and Ethiopia.

How about we "teach them to fish"??? :Face-palm:

I wonder how much of that money actually goes to the intended purpose. I'm guessing 10% or less.

I didn't mean it literally. I meant help them help themselves.
...Instead of sitting by or sending Biden 's chief of staff ravaging them in massive color revolutions, and letting The CCP take land to mine.

Not new, decades old. At this point, it is basically mailbox money for these clowns.

Like getting royalties on a song you wrote 30 years ago.

I’m guessing there’s no real urgency in filling these two posts.

Just wait his RINO arse out for another 4 1/2 months. Then he’s got nothing to say about it.
