Hatch had a great rebuttal of the Dems
quote:
SEN. HATCH: IT IS IRONIC AND HYPOCRITICAL A BIT THAT MY FRIENDS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE AISLE HAVE SUDDENLY FOUND RELIGION ON OFFSHORE ACCOUNT HOLDINGS. EVIDENTLY, MEMORIES ARE SHORT. AT LEAST TWO OF PRESIDENT OBAMA'S NOMINEES WHO NOW SERVE IN HIS CABINET HAD CAYMAN ISLANDS HOLDINGS. THAT INCLUDES THE CURRENT TREASURY SECRETARY WHO ALSO RAN A BUSINESS UNIT AT CITIGROUP, BAILED OUT MEGABANKS ROOM WHERE HE RECEIVED CLOSE TO $1 MILLION IN BONUSES. THAT UNIT HAS BEEN SANCTIONED BY THE SEC FOR SELLING TOXIC ASSETS THAT "HARMED INVESTORS." WITH REGARD TO THE NOMINEE'S DISCLOSURES TO THE COMMITTEE, I WANT TO SAY THIS -- AS PART OF THE COMMITTEE BIPARTISAN SETTING PROCESS, MR. MNUCHIN AND GOOD FAITH SUBMITTED ANSWER TO COMMITTEE QUESTIONNAIRES AND OTHER MATERIALS THAT WERE LATER MODIFIED. THIS FILE IS NOT -- NOW COMPLETE AND MEETS THE DEMANDS OF SOME OF MY DEMOCRATIC COLLEAGUES, THE DISCLOSURES NOW INCLUDED FINANCIAL INFORMATION THAT IS USUALLY KEPT CONFIDENTIAL. SUCH AS THE VALUE OF PERSONAL RESIDENCES /quote]
[quote]THE DISCLOSURES NOW INCLUDED FINANCIAL INFORMATION THAT IS USUALLY KEPT CONFIDENTIAL. SUCH AS THE VALUE OF PERSONAL RESIDENCES. THE COMMITTEE APPRECIATES MR. MNUCHIN'S EFFORTS TO WORK THROUGH THE MULTIPLE AND COMPLICATED REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OF WHAT IS BY ANY REASONABLE MEASURE AN EXHAUSTIVE VETTING PROCESS. LET'S BE FAIR.

If you already know it, then why are you asking it?

Mnuchin: "If you knew the answer then why are you asking me?"

It would be nice if Sherrod Brown would let him answer any of his dumb questions without interrupting

Brown is a dick. You can't remember a specific thing that OCC said so you can't talk about OCC. How does that make sense?

You're correct, that blonde is

I know, and then telling him that he can't answer his questions because Brown only has limited time. It's ridiculous.

No offense to anyone but when you hear Sherrod brown you'd think he's black.

I consider it a poor man's Tom Waits voice.

Why is it the mortgage company's responsibility to negotiate a repayment plan with those who are unable to pay their contractual obligation? I understand why the issue keeps getting brought up by these Senators but it's an absurd idea that contractual obligations mean nothing.

Side note: I could so see Jimmy Fallon in his prime playing Mnuchin on SNL. His mannerisms would be funny to play.
