Rick Edmonds : FBC of McComb Pastor?!

I see their political signs everywhere around Baton Rouge and wonder how someone can vote for someone who lives in McComb, MS.
As a conservative, I'm sure I'll have to suck it up and vote for them in the general if they win the primaries. But the guy is the pastor for the First Baptist Church in McComb, MS.
Louisiana republicans are stupid ex:JBE
There, I feel better.

What's Edmonds running for? And why would a conservative Baptist pastor be a bad thing in political office?

Because he lives and is a pastor in McComb, MS and is running for State Senate in Louisiana.

Who says he lives in McComb?

Isn’t he already a state rep in LA? Is it illegal to cross state lines to preach these days?

He lives in McComb like 5 days a week and has a house in Baton Rouge. But it seems I'm the only one who wants someone who lives in Louisiana by judging the posts so far.

Yes, which is kind of the point. I'm sure he is a good guy. I just would figure constituents would want someone who resided full time in the place they were representing.
I figured wrong it seems. It is what it is. Louisiana is going to Louisiana.

Sounds like they have the opportunity to decide that by voting

Do you have any proof in support of this claim?

You seem to have some personal knowledge of him and this race. Perhaps you could enlighten us of who would be a better recipient of our vote, as a more constructive endeavor.

He looks like a rock-ribbed conservative to me.
Also, Bethany Church is in BR. Perhaps the OP is simply confused.
Edit: Apologizes to the OP, my information cited above is out-of-date. Edmonds is listed as the pastor of FBC McComb on their website.
Still, the drive to McComb from BR is only about an hour. He could still work in Mississippi and maintain his domicile in BR.

I'm not going to tell you who to vote for my man. I have no dog in this fight. I just know people that know him pretty well, and they were laughing at how he has a Louisiana seat and is trying to move up from State Representative to Senate. All the while, not living primarily in the state. I, personally, just thought it was ridiculous.
I have no vendetta against a God fearing man. Just disagree with the situation.
