Question now is why aren't the Dems and TDS folks throwing this out instead of simply opposing and being critical of the current Admin?
No idea. I am not in charge of policy and I have a hard enough time convincing people at large that we are in the middle of a massive crisis.

And why wasn't any movement on this topic made during the previous Admin?
Do you think I worked for the last admin or something?

I suspect you are akin to the vast majority of libs - as in you have severe TDS and wish that this Admin. fails at everything they propose/accomplish.
Nah I think RFK is full of shite. He is the exact opposite of the meritocracy that ending DEI was supposed to create. He just says stuff, like his idiotic quote on children’s ’mitochondrial’ problems but he seems to get a pass for some reason.

Are the usual suspects way under that number?
For metabolic syndromes, it seems to be everyone. Who wants to take those medications for the rest of their life? Another issue is that no one seems to think they are overweight anymore, as our view of what a healthy weight has shifted beyond belief. The best defense against these syndromes is to never get fat, as you can have metabolic and hormonal derangements for years after you lose weight as well. I would like to approach obesity as though it is like a cancer with a high remission rate and use that as the basis of long-term treatment.

So what is your opinion of the newly released JAMA study that shows positive covid outcomes from azelastine?
Posted on 9/4/25 at 6:34 pm to tigerfan 64
I think it’s good. Azelastine is a great medication. I took a few samples home and take it as needed. Early in the pandemic, there was the suggestion that an inhaled vaccine would provide more protection than a systemic one. There was also a recent paper that argued that inhaled vaccines for respiratory viruses would be the best route, especially for highly mutagenic viruses.

Not worked with but I suspect you voted for Biden and I suspect you voted for a continuation with Kamala at the helm. Just a hunch.
You are I suspect have severe TDS and ate up with it. As are many others. Thankfully not the majority at this point regarding Americans.

Okay, but that still doesn’t mean I had influence over policy. I would push for something like this as several GLP-1 patents expire in the next few years. I am not in favor of giving these out Willy-nilly, I think it needs to be conditional, as the weight will return if your fundamental relationship with food and exercise hasn’t also changed.
It has been a crisis since our obesity levels hit 20% or so, which may have been in the 90’s. It’s insane that we’ve let it go this long.

I think pharmaceutical ads are pointless but they aren’t a prevailing cause of our situation.
Nobody implied that they are the prevailing cause. So reread the post you replied to and try again.

Sorry that RFK is getting into your bottom line.

Maybe you should read the question posed to me again. That question linked the notion that banning of the ads would lead us to become healthier.

He had a good sound bite with Pocahontas. Called her money grubbing arse out.

And because his name is on the list as well.

I'll answer my question.
Why does the public need Big Pharma ads?
They don't!
However, the Gaslight Media needs Bog Pharma ads to prop up their failed business model.

Great, but what does banning pharma ads actually do? Give me specifics.

Yes, pulling ads will not have any effect on the metabolic health of Americans. That notion is idiotic.

Takes away Big Pharma's propaganda partners aka the Gaslight Media and you end up getting two skunks with one shot if Big Pharma ads are banned from broadcast, streaming and print media.

Okay so what does that do to the crisis we are facing with regard to obesity? Again, quantify it for me. How much will obesity rates fall once muh pharmacy is banned from advertising?

Reduces demand for name brand expensive drugs for one.
Shortens your appointment times if Aunt Sally stops saying what about drug X she just saw an ad for.

Possibly, but just because a patient asked for a medication doesn’t mean I am going to prescribe it or that insurance will cover it. The latter is the big hurdle in general and for what it’s worth I don’t prescribe anything unless I feel a patient absolutely needs it. Specialist care is different though.

Ha, it probably won’t shorten anything.

You are someone that cannot see the forest because of the trees. It is not the commercial or message in the commercial they are worried about. It is the message the networks send out to the public. They make up 50% of revenue for a lot of the msm. They control the content. You are a blind mfer to not see the this and consequently a sheep that will buy whatever they are selling. It is sad.
