Best Buy permanently closed ten stores this month - and now has 100 fewer shops than before the pandemic.

The ten all shut on March 2 and are in addition to another 24 the retailer shut during its fiscal year ending February 3.

The electronics giant is the latest this year to shut stores - or announce plans to do so. Walmart has shut three in 2024 and will shut another three in weeks.

Meanwhile, Dollar Tree has announced plans to shut 1,000, Macy's has said it will cull 150 - a third of its total - and drug store Rite Aid is shuttering 77.

Last year, major US chains including Target, CVS, Macy's and Rite Aid were behind nearly 3,000 stores closures in 2023.

It's inevitable that eventually only Walmart & Target will be left standing and that's only because they also sell groceries.
Between Amazon and chinese crap apps like Temu there is no need for others. And it is not a sign of economic doom. The people are spending more wisely. All the crap comes from Asia anyway so why pay a markup so some sociology major can check me out at Best Buy?

so basically, in about 10-15 years, walmart and amazon will become the only 2 behemoths in the retail space and will become the key economic indicators of our GDP

I'm guessing the mark up isn't great on TVs anymore as well.

I remember when a 48" projection TV was several thousand.

BB has been ailing for years, which is evident in how poorly they stock the stores. I quit shopping in store as a result because of too many trips where they didn’t have what I needed.

This is just them starting to enter a death spiral.

Best Buy has great financing options. I bought all my TVs, appliances, and PC/laptops there bc I could finance at 0%. They also price match; I found several things for cheaper elsewhere and they dropped their price so I could finance with them.

So....the heavy boots of Globalism continue to stomp out their competitors?

Just throw in the fricking towel and make the official announcement of a NWO Corporatocracy based on the CCP model of global economics and societal control.
