Republicans, the party really needs to quit the hypocritical spending stances.

I'm stuck in the waiting room with Fox News on the tv while I wait to start my work day, and Paul Ryan pops on to the tv.

He starts off talking about how Obama's military budget is destroying balance created worldwide and that we shouldn't have enacted those cuts.

Then it transitions to him complaining about how Obama's budget is too big and he needs to enact more cuts.

The Republicans really need to get their financial message in order.

I'm in favor of spending on constitutionally prescribed functions, such as foreign policy and national defense. I'm against spending that is outside of the enumerated powers, which is most of non-defense spending.

Can defense spending, particularly fraud, waste and abuse be cut back? Certainly. Can we trim a little more fat - particularly with our foreign entanglements? Absolutely.

But there are trillons being spent on extra-Constitutional functions and only defense spending ever seems in the crosshairs...

You're just gonna get a bunch of down votes and no real answers. The problem is that a huge percentage of fox viewers took the bait agreed with the first segment then turned around and out of misdirected anger agreed with the second message. No real solutions just hate.

They need to grow a pair and ACT on the stances they profess instead of acting like scared cats cowering in the corner. The people that vote them into office from any district in any state should hold their feet to the coals for not doing so. If it takes a Tea Party voice in the primaries then put one forth for the nomination. In the last five years we have added nearly 6 Trillion dollars to the national debt figures, with no end in sight.

It's hard to compete with Black Santa Claus promising all the leaches that they've been cultivating since the Great Society with all "free" sh!t. After all, if you're not paying for it, it's got to be FREE, right?

It's not hypocritical considering the #1 function of the Federal Government from the time this country was founded is national defense.

I agree, cut off foreign aid and all of that.

But Mark Levin the other night was making a good point about military spending and the size/scope of the miliary. He said the military needs to be built not based on our current foreign affairs, but based on foreign affairs 15-20 years in the future.

You never know what can happen.

Obama scales back our military and guess what happens? Putin is on the move.

We need a strong military to deter crazy dictators and the likes from thinking they can do whatever they want.

But we can cut waste and fraud in the Pentagon.

I wonder if it's actually a CUT to military spending or a proposed slow down in the rate of growth?

That's the rub though; they don't have a fiscal message.

They really don't want to admit it, but there is a struggle for the future of the party. It is NOT one big happy tent anymore. You've got the status quo GWB guys who want to nationbuild and fight a losing culture war over weed, god, gays, etc. Then you've got the actual small government guys.

We will not see a coherent message out of the GOP until one of these sides drives out the other one.

We need a strong military but the military of the future will probably rely on technology, mobility, superior training instead of huge standing forces. We're still acting like its 1959

Look no further than the Flood Insurance. How can Rebepublicans be for this and not for any other welfare?

Oh but Obama does not dress properly in the Oval office when he telephones Putin.
