In three tweets on Thursday, conservative talk show host Mark Levin explained how the Supreme Court's 7-2 decision on the president's tax returns could (and should) come back to haunt the justices:

"The Supreme Court just opened itself up to congressional demands for the individual justices' tax returns," Levin tweeted shortly after the ruling was handed down.

"I can see a situation in which the House or the Senate decides that it must have access to all of the justices' tax and financial records each year to determine if they're influences in any way to write the decisions they write or vote the way they vote on numerous cases.

"The justices will not be able to argue that they are immune as a matter of separation of powers as they just shot down that argument as applies to the president."

I think this opens the door for every elected official and those appointed by them. What am I missing?

Every member of Congress and USCJ as well as any vetted members that should be on the court should release their tax returns.

If any member of the SCOTUS is being investigated by multiple jurisdictions then I support this as well.

In the interest of transparency that standard to should apply to every elected official and their immediate family.

Imagine finding out Hunter Biden made $100MM from a Chinese firm, that would be important information.

Most the time this is voluntarily given 99.99999% of the time. Trump is the outlier here.

No there isn’t.

They used some cab medallion scheme he ran to force him to plea to a made up crime to politically damage the presidents

Keep trying though

I don’t know if you can legally apply this standard to their family.

There is a right to privacy and you dad or bother being a politician shouldn’t take that away.

And yes I absolutely Agree it makes sense, but sometimes rights supersede that.

I know it would never happen, but running for office is not a right. Kind of like showing your driver's license to drive of course the family is more passengers in the car. I get that.
