To articulate conservatism and what true capitalism is. Instead of promoting a free market, the Bushes and top brass in the party were giving out huge bailouts and money to corporations. That is crony capitalism, not capitalism. And it’s one of the reasons why there seems to be wealth inequality and why so many are falling for socialism. Other than the fact that by and large, a majority of this country is stupid.

As a Conservative the Republicans have been extremely weak in a lot of aspects which has given the Dems the killer instinct.
Term limits now!

These are also the same Republicans who cry about TRUMP not being conservative.

No question. The GOP became the party of unnecessary war and big corporations and the Bush period was a fricking disaster. The financial crisis radicalized a lot of Americans against capitalism and the Republicans have done a horrible job at articulating its benefits in the wake of that.

I don’t think Trump is a conservative, but he has governed as one. His policies have been the most conservative in several decades.

I can't disagree. Another weakness of the republicans is they have been spineless against the onslaught of the progressive left and the controlled media, their attempts to appease them only emboldens them.

Hopefully they learn a few things from Trump, he is showing them the way to fight back if they can find the backbone to do it.

theyve been the controlled opposition post Reagan. Losers and daddy’s boy paid to stand there and smile while country was jerked left. But they sit there and take their abuse like good boys. Why do you think they hate trump so much? He’s actually not on the take! Libs called bush “Hitler”, now they love him. He was always on their team

Agreed, tweeting about how unfair everyone is and mocking real and perceived opponents (sometimes hilariously so, gotta give credit where it's due) is an excellent blueprint to fight back!

You are leaving the naive Ben Shapiro wing of conservatism and taking the Tucker Carlson redpill of conservatism.

Everyone needs to read Ship of Fools.

Couldn't agree more. Short of Trump trolling Dems 24/7 Republicans always cave in to them and end up looking like a bunch of pussies just to insure they get elected a 2nd term. I.e. senator McCain. Dude was as Republican as negative Nancy.

Yes, this is correct. But after all these years the democrats have cobbled together the proper coalition and they HAVE the media. So every day the media paints the picture and sets up the discussion for the day. Why do we see AOC, every day? She is just a House member from New York City. I asked my son who lives in Austin who his representative is? He was not sure and that is how important a single member of the house is. But the media paints the picture of AOC as an intelligent and emerging national leader and that is what she has become. Basically they are a propaganda tool for the democrats. For me it started when under media and political pressure Nixon resigned. It ramped up during the impeachment of and saving of Clinton. The press much to their consternation saw Bush elected with a minority of voters and though they couldn't destroy him and he got a second term they redoubled efforts to get Obama elected. And now they are hell bent on destroying Trump. They champion the causes of flakes like AOC and her minions.

It’s because they have morals and no spine. They let the Dems walk all over them, lie to them, and make them look foolish, then believe them when they make promises only to later break them and handcuff them when they are in the minority. We had the house, senate, and presidency for 2 years and did nothing with it. They should have gone scorched earth because that is what the Dems will do when/if they take the power back.
