Understood, and I agree that there are undoubtedly more important issues to be dealt with. I also think it is a dangerous move to shut everything down over what I consider to be an incomplete solution to the border issue.

I am skeptical of any solution to the border that doesn't included punishing domestic employers who hire illegals. Nothing can ever totally secure such a long physical area, things and people will get through even if in much lesser numbers. We need to cut out the motivation for coming here illegally in the first place at the same time.

He knows that if the government is allowed to use Eminent Domain laws to take that land, he will be highly unpopular.

Just be thankful you have the one audit and compliance framework to deal with. I'm up to three, with probably a fourth one (NERC-CIP) on the way.

Well my company is doing allot of new stuff in ICS so I'll never be too comfortable in just one framework. Just hoping they never stray too far from NIST 800.

Yep, starting with entitlement reform. That alone could help solve other related problems such as illegal border crossings, the national debt, etc...

I see putting the burden on determining citizenship on employers is as unfair as putting the burden of detaining illegals on municipal governments. the federal government is charged with immigration control, and if they want other people to help them with that, they need to make resources available to them. No unfunded mandates from the feds.

So, lets make employers responsible for verifying the immigration status of the people they employ. What is the mechanism for that? National ID? Give employers the force and weight of the federal government to investigate and determine immigration status of every person they intend to hire?

If the full force and weight of the US government isn't sufficient to assess the immigration status of people living in this country, how the hell can the government tell employers "we really can't or won't do this, but we'll punish you for failing to?"

Since you missed the first one obviously.

Wonder why previous presidents called it a crisis as well...
because they are politicians, and taking a minor irritant and calling it a “crisis“ tends to inflame the ignorant masses?

You aren't familiar with Will Hurd or his district. Hurd wants to be reelected.

Border Patrol over time has only endorsed three people in the last couple years. Donald Trump, Martha McSally last cycle for Senate and a guy named Will Hurd.
could it be that the border patrol is smart enough to understand that Will hurd is a substantially better option than whatever Dem might replace him? (Unlike the bulk of the herd here)

I don't believe it's a myth, though I don't believe the wall should be the preferred method of dealing with it

More or less than of a myth than your claim to insider info? You promised a state of emergency would be declared days ago. You have zero credibility.

Wow. Thanks for saving me the click. Only TiDC would post that article thinking it was a “win.”

From Rolling Stone. I'm sure they are objective. How many retractions have they had to make last year because they never verified any information given to them? Why should i believe them?

My insider info was wrong. I own it. Feel free to consider that if I ever tell you that I have insider info again.
