The manager at Zea told me yesterday they were having trouble because employees "were scared."

Sophomore Spanish Club is literally hiring an all-new staff. Their Facebook posts are basically desperation at this point.

Caribe' (Mexican fare) was 110% capacity last night. The margaritas were flowing.

Going to Mama Hamils for lunch today. They converted to cafeteria style.

A few of our favorites are waiting until Monday to open. They just could not get everything logistically done to open yesterday. Gyms are scheduled to open Monday as well.

If I own a restaurant and there’s people waiting in line... I have the staff and tables open I’m gonna say....... Nah, y’all stand out there and wait.

Sounds like legit way to stay in business.

Yeah right.
I bet this sticks.

A couple of the more upscale places are waiting until Tuesday here. Mostly because the “safer at home” expires Monday and they’re hoping some of the “rules” will be relaxed so they don’t have to go through the headache of buying a bunch of masks and such.

These places will likely follow the rules at least some because their customers are heavily older folks with money. And those types tend to be more nitpicky

Spoke with two restaurant GM’s yesterday who still are doing take out only and they said they were having trouble finding help. No help = no open doors

I’ve heard from a couple that said they are doing MORE business from curbside and takeout that they personally wouldn’t mind keeping up the status quo. One had to do an emergency resupply at a couple of bulk supply stores to have enough product and containers to make it through a Saturday.

They said they will open when they are given the go ahead, but only because they would lose business if they didn’t.

The key demographic in this story - Mississippi people.

Mississippi is not known for good decision making, education or common sense.

I don’t think the rest of the country should use this shithole as a litmus test.

Lol. By all means. Stay hidden in your bunker while laying in the fetal position and reciting praise to your leaders. Same leaders who continually break their own rules.

That is intelligent thinking. Lol

Tate needs to grow him a set, delaying opening over sky screamers and then those gay rules.

How much longer should they have waited in your esteemed estimation? What are some particulars that you believe would have been different further down the line to have made this better "decision making" than the choice to open things up at this time?

I’m not going to out the name of the restaurant publicly since they aren’t “following the rules” but just check out places to eat in the central delta if you’re near here (greenwood, indianola, Greenville, Cleveland)

Yeah, I'm not sure how a place like the Original Does could be "following the rules" if they're open.
