Are you eschewing the federal/state distinction or do you not understand it?

So federal supremacy over state court judges under individual state procedures?

Do some of these people actually think or get some sort of legal opinion before actually floating out this stuff. It begs to be overturned if ever signed into law.

It's almost as if most people on the Board don't respect or like the Constitution and its limits on the federal government.

The Constitution, as it was originally written with the Bill of Rights is just fine. We should eliminate all amendments after the BOR and run this country as it was originally intended

Is it the fed or the state that's keeping us from shooting the rabid dogs which snarl at the park guests?

This is a situation where the “slippery slope” argument applies. Judges can’t do their jobs if they have to worry that their decisions may be unpopular.

they can't do their jobs if they are just trying to do what they think will be popular.

I don't think the state has a right to allow criminals to walk free because of someone's feelings. What do you think should be done when a state refuses to protect its citizens? Anything...or is it always just "oh well, that's the law"?

Uh....why? That's how it's always been.

That is up to that state and its citizens engaging in our democratic institutions.

Give them a nice "3 strikes" law. If, during their time as a federal judge (despite which level or location), there are three instances where someone with a documented history of committing violent crimes is let out on no (or low) bail, they are automatically removed from the bench,

I like this because on the surface it doesn't have to be political even though in practical terms there'd be a ton of liberal judges shitcanned.

"You suck at your job so you have to go" - doesn't matter who appointed you. 3 strikes and you're out.

It should be applied retroactively, too.

There are too many variables to answer that.
